Hey guys Im finally going to start production of my stunt stays so some of you 636 riders can get a "REAL" stunt stay that works......But I need some feedback from people that would be intrested in buying them....The first run Im going to be making about 5-10 as I'll be making all the parts myself again, once those all sell Im going to source the parts out. Then within the next month I hope to start designing and producing one for the F4i(my friend broke 3 this year and demads I make a one piece unit for the F4i), GSXR, 600RR and whatever other bikes I can get in the shop...

So my questions are
(1) The prototype stay I made for myself is for a cut windscreen, its very short(see pics). Would you guys prefer I make them all like that or should I make some or all for a full length upper? Maybe I can make an add on for full lenght upper riders that they could buy seperatly?

(2) The cross bar that runs under the windscreen is there to add stability and strength for roll overs, it saved my controls after looping 4 endos. I can get my fingers under it and use it as a grab bar, but wuld you guys want another one running straight across under it for a grab bar?

(3) I left mine raw becasuse after about 20 crashes including a few endo loops it did need some tweaking and welding of some split welds. Would you guys prefer I powder coat them black or should I leave them all raw so you can weld them if they need to be fixed without the powder gettting in the way?

(4) Is there aything you guys would like to add to my design? Its changed a little from the original and is going to be even stronger this time but Im all ears for new ideas....

Thanks guys let me know what you think, I hope to sell them for around $250 for starters and hopefully drop that price as this venture grows...But I'll tell you %100 this is better than anything on the market that Ive seen or tried...What I got for $250 from a big name company wasnt even a complete unit(had to use stock guage bracket)didnt fit, basically was complete Garbage! My has been through hell this season and Im still using it to this day..

Ive been thinking about getting a 636 and I would definatly be interested in something like that. I would also like to know about one for the f4i.

To answer your questions:

1) Yes I personally would like to have it for a cut windscreen

2)No I do not think it needs a grab bar. The 636 has a natural one in the intake duct. The f4i also you can just grab the upper. Looks better to grab the upper than some bar you have fabbed in there, trick wise

3)If the price remains the same I would rather have it powder coated.....If its extra, raw is fine too

4)I like this design and I like that you used round tubing for the windscreen brace. Round is better for the back of your legs

 

Well I dont have a 636, but that looks like a quality piece right there !
I can say that Tim bought a Stunt stay for his gixxer 1 last year from a "reputable stunt part company" and it was garbage. He also paid alot more than that. That POS was so bad we wanted to send it back to them in tiny pieces..

that looks sick i have a 06 636 and i want one for the full windscreen powder coated or not doesn;t matter as long as it holds up

 

I'll try my best to get one made for you 05+ guys but Its gonna be hard to get an 05, theres only a hand full of stunters where I live and they definatley arent on the newest machines....Getting a mint 05 in to design and prototype it wouldnt be a problem, but I'll have to buy an upper and windscreen because the first stay has to be tack welded on the bike and the plastic gets melted and scratched slightly.... I will try my best thou and the design shoulnlt be too different from the 03-04...

its aluminum. and looks fantastic. Definetly looks TIG'd too.

Quality fab work bro. Very impressed.

 

Correct its all TIG welded 6061 T6 aluminum, the plate is 1/4" thick and the tube is .75" dia x 1/8" wall thickness......If that impresses you youll really like the finished product, that was the first prototype and Im hoping to have the 2nd ready early next week...The proto was all but joints, for production Im designing the parts to fit together like a puzzle, that way the welder doesnt need a jig and they are all welded together the same.....

Yes it is and its on my streetbike/stunter that I ride everyday on the street, If I could figure out how to hook up just a gas light Id get rid of it but I need that..........Running out of gas on the street sucks
