Do I want to see this happened to stunting, not particularly but skateboarding was around for many years before X-Games got it's mitts on it and you know what it'll be around long after, as will stunting once it goes mainsteam. It's only a matter of time.
bull****ingshit x games got skateparks open. shows how little u know. vans got skateparks open. alot has changed in 15 years and it wasnt cuz of espn.

Or, it's gonna be televised, but, they are going to televise like a half hour show once in a while, on OLN (outdoor life Network) like they do with Paintball.

Also, you folks who wouldn't want espn to "own" stunting... You are saying that because stunting would be televised once a year you wouldn't be able to go out and nail the streets/parkinglot, because espn ruined it for you? GET OVER IT. Do you not go out and play football, baseball, basketball, or hockey anymore? because ESPN ruined it?
i never played football or bball or any of that ****, im a rider. not a failed highschool sports hero who rides a bike cuz of the adrenaline rush.

a sport is defined as a physical activity that involves rules in a structured competition. technicly u can make potatoe peeling a sport, but is it really a sport?? really depends on a personal view of what sport is. i see sport as things u did in high school or college. i dont see racing, fishing/hunting, stunting, skating, freestyle mx or anything else like that as a sport. i see things as a lifestyle, this is what i do rather theres competition or not, paid or unpaid, this is what i do not for money or fame or a pat on the back but cuz i love it in my heart regardless if i was the only one doing it. i guess thats the fear of **** going mainstream is that so many ppl will enter into it that do it for the wrong reasons, theres enough ppl riding just cuz they think its gonna get em some ***** and a paycheck already. those types of riders tend to be the arrogant "im better than you" types. i guess idk my opinion anyway!

Re: Stunting In X-games

ok stunting should never be in the xgames i come from a mx backround like most on here and lets just say xgames took the fun out of freestyle plus there will be to much pressure to progress the sport when that kind of pressure is put on riders for such a bad paycheck its never good oh and yes people in the xgames don't get payed that well they make more off of makin movies and it makes it hard for up and comers who won't have the money like the pros so i say keep it undeground where the fun is don't turn this s*** into a sellout fools 9 to 5 just my one more thing more progress comes from friends tryin to out do eachother rather than someone trying to out do a suit and tie the only good thing that comes out of the exgames is the endrossments that it the rest is all bull****

x games or not... this "sport" is GETTING BIG WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!!!

if you're so worried about this being on tv, because it'll make your parking lot sessions look like doodoo... then you're contradicting yourself, by saying, " I ride for the love of it... "

DEAL WITH IT!

Re: Stunting In X-games

Well Stunting is a sport...or they wouldnt have wheelie contest, burnout contest, ect. It is a sport... That said I dont really want lil 12 year olds buying rockets with moms money and taking their imature brains to my spots and trash it and ruin it for me and my crew... so I'm against x-game coverage... let it grow on its own not with help... if they wanna ride when they know how to take care of **** ok cool I'll rip with um till then they need to stay on moms nipple!... can I get a Hells Yeah!

Re: Stunting In X-games

well now that I think about it... I'm not even so much against the TV-spot... Just lil f-in kid being stupid, like camillion4 said they are gonna kill themselves they cant hold a bike up but they will try... they will ride on the highway doing 100mph with out a license getting to that spot... they will trash it... they will attract the po po... I will flip out on any lil kid trying to stunt... unless they have surpassed me in skill... if they are gonna they need to stay at home and do it in privacy of their back yard

+50 to that at grapvine mills mall they got a skate park WTF? I had one blade 2 rollers and some dirt and not even good dirt the really brown kind, for real I am with you zipp713 spots are hard enough to come by as is we do not need people who want to ride for all the wrong reasons drawing more attention to us. I do that enough on 35South. Plus think of all the wining *** moms saying, "stunting killed my little Billy" and it was not because he had up snydrome:YEAH

Bro please tell me you are not one of those type of people that think TV and video games are the cause of kids killing people.

kids take on the image that there parents have raised them in.

That's not what I'm saying at all, I'm saying that X-games opened up all types of new areas to skate that weren't there before.

And you're absolutely right I am a "NOOB" as you put it, I don't even ride, never mind stunt, though I do enjoy the sport and do photograph and video stunt stuff. My brother rides and introduced me to stunting and I'm a huge fan and pretty active in the New England area.

The popularity of skateboarding has alot to do with X-Games. Don't get me wrong it was huge before X-games but died out for a while, X-games brought skating back to the TV generation. Vans has done shitloads for skating I agree but without all the media skating has gotten through things like X-games the amount of skateparks that are built wouldn't be as high as it is.

I don't think X-Games is solely responsible for the popularity of skateboarding, I just think they deserve credit for revitalizing the sport.
