Man its all about getting the feeling of your bike when you first learn. Once you learn, you can hope on most any bike and clutch it up for miles. Just practice practice practice. And before you know it, you'll be at the BP for miles. Just practice and read up and watch videos in here, and you'll be golden in no time. Some peeps can just jump on a bike and pull it up and go right off the bat. Most of us have the practice our *** off!!

Re: I Need Advice In How To Loose Fear

Get comfy with the balance point. I used to fear it on the kan-o-tuna, then i bought a more powerful bike, found it is easier once you know where it is...

Basically, when you cant see the road anymore (sitting down) you are very close, if that scares you, try a stand up, but watch the touchdown, it can get hairy if done wrong...

I think once you come to peace with the fact that you'll crash eventually
the fear will go out the window, it worked for me

or you could alway try to stunt on a nice grassy area

Re: I Need Advice In How To Loose Fear

Ride more, practice more, and cover your rear brake, and learn how to spell "loose" JK

Learn on a Xr 50 or a Quad. That really helped my brake control in the beginning. It will also help the fear factor too.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Brake fade caused by normal lines expanding due to heat and pressure!!! and steel lines don't suffer from that problem.

I guess you could be right... but I was under the impression it was the actual fluid losing viscosity from the heat.

But if the rotor and pads heat up form excessive use you'll still have the same pickel of a situation happening
