Does anyone think

Stunting is going to go the way of skateboarding? It looks like it is to me.

i honestly think it won't and can't but I'd like to see it a little more welcomed by the public. who knows what the future has in store though.

I dont know, it seems its building up similar to skating in the late 80's/early 90's, so mabye theres a chance stunting will reach that level

I hope it reaches that level, and then they can build parking lots and call them stunt parks

Re: Does anyone think

the learning curve in stunting is a little more dangerous. if people (kids) learned on 50's and 70's...then took those skills to the big bikes, then it would be easier welcomed (I think). but just to learn BP on a big bike, with no mini exp, it takes a lot of open space...and possibly a lot of money. you can break an ankle or something like that with a skateboard, but you can break your neck or worse on a bike.

don't get me wrong, I"m not a hater, just looking at it from the "corporate america" point of view.

Re: Does anyone think

and they always think a motorcycle can get away from you and steer itself straight into an innocent bystander and explode like in a movie. These stuntparks if they do open up will have large jersey barriers guarantee that.

...not to mention, only one at a time (riders I mean), after signing a waiver and your life, providing full coverage insurance, valid license, proper protective gear, the list can go on.

Re: Does anyone think

There is not a chance it will ever take off like skateboarding...sorry guys

Skatebaords are $100 and if it breaks, cheap to fix, and takes no mechanical skills to keep it alive and rollin'
Bikes $2000 and up.... and if it breaks (like Beto's f4i) $1000 to fix it.....AND you have to be mechanically inclined OR Pay lotsa money to keep it alive and rockin'

Parents will buy their kids skateboards (a new one every year...till a kid starts driving)
Parents will not buy kids a stuntbike (if they knew what it was for) Even after they have their driving license.

I was into racing gopeds about 5 years ago....and they were all the same way....... " Our sport is growing....Our sport is growing.....X games ....Freestyle.....We have to get gopeds in there........ Gopeds should be more popular than skateboards...blah blah blah "
Same deal there..... Way more expensive, Plus it takes Way more skills and money to keep the vehicle alive.

Think about it....what would you buy your kid ? just my

Re: Does anyone think

I don't know if it will ever get that big. But look at motocross. In the freestyle comps theres some young guys catchin some big air and doing crazy ****. If you bite it from a backflip 30ft up your gonna be hurting more than a bike falling on you. But parents still buy their kids dirtbikes. They know they will jump them and do wheelies. The only diff is the dirt and the pavement.

Stunting has been around for awhile, its not going anywhere near the way skateboarding has and it never will. 95% of the ppl in this country have no idea what sport bike stunting even is until you explain it to em.

Re: Does anyone think

Just because the cops don't like it doesn't mean it won't be accepted. Have you seen all the No Skateboarding signs in parking lots? Cops hate skateboarders as much as they hate stunters. Except they can give us tickets. I'm sure some of you on here ar ex-skaters and know how much cops hassle you.

Thats the main reason I think stunting might not grow with children like skating, but I dont think it will affect the 18+ people. If you look skating, most of the good people are 18+ anyway, except for some younger kids that are really good.

Re: Does anyone think

i dont want it to grow, **** that, i like being a minority and having a unique and somewhat underground hobby i participate in.

how many people can say they can get on a 450 pound 100hp 2 wheeled machine and ride on 1 wheel sitting on the tank with their legs over the handlebars.. do you ever think about how long it took you to get decent at stunting, its got a huge learning curve
