Re: f2?? fuel pump??

wire the fuel pump up to a 12 volt IGNITION source, i know the f4 pumps are pressure regulated so hook the lead wire to a IGN. source(not constant or toggle switch) and make sure the in/outs are correct

home skillet. so the F4 its regulated internally? as in, it stops pumping when its built pressure? how is this different than the F3?

why would this mean you have to wire it differently?

Re: f2?? fuel pump??

^^ Martino, I think you got it. I miss read your post before I posted.

I wired my F4 pump directly to the Battery and ran a toggle. This kept it pumping at all times when the toggle was on. It never over filled the carbs, even if I left it toggled on for a couple hours by mistake. It would tick tick tick.. then slow up and stop after a few mins.

We're talking pretty low pressures here, not like Hi-Psi FI. My guess would be to just toggle it up to the battery or be a pimp and do what DLish said, tapping into an ignition source.

cool man,
one of the reasons I like carbs, if something goes wrong with the fuel system, the power fizzles out, it wont throw you over the front like FI

I used a Autozone $29 fuel pump on mine. I tried the 3psi pump and the 7psi pump, I had better luck with the 7, but supposedly a stock pump is more like 3psi.
