sometimes it is just plain ole bad luck...did you have your cage tightened all the way around?

jerry rig it and keep riding!

Re: FI. cage = weak

you are not the only one out there bro with the crushed stator cover,on my 03' 636 any impact to the left side results in a cracked case cover.unless you have a extra stator cover and some oil,you might as well load up your bike cause you are'nt riding any.i just ordered a mxd cage, cause what i paid for a the stator covers i could buy another cage that is more durable

Re: FI. cage = weak

what teach said. and for the record I wasnt trying to be an *******. I think your main problem is that you are on a gixxer. The motor mounts are flimsy and soft and allow the sliders to bend a lot easier. I had that problem on my old gixxer. Haven had it since I switched to hondas. If you want to stick with the gixxer you'll probably have better luck with a different style cage.

Re: FI. cage = weak

I learned the slows on FI and put 2 cages through HELL.

my 954's took beat down after beat down... bent mm bolts pfft... I want my money back.

my 905 lasted 1 week... no sh*t, ONE FU(KING WEEK... (pm me for pics disbelievers) FI took airborne 12 drops sideways from 25mph, skipping over the pavement w/ only bent mount bolts and broke sliders plastic.

keep yer bolts tight (not too tight) and ya got no worries... even if you are a beginner.

just cause you s*ck at life don't blame it on you cage... fu(king complainers!

U MUST NOT EVEN BE ATTEMPTING TO SAVE THAT THING BRO... THAT OR UR LEARNIN' H/C O'S.

P.S. UR STUNT RIDING THE WORST BIKE'S U COULD POSSIBLY BUY IN TERMS OF DURABILITY MY FRIEND. U MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER A SWITCH TO A HONDA IF U ARE GONNA CONTINUE LEARNING TO STUNT RIDE. SOME PEOPLE ARE BRAND LOYAL, I PERSONALLY AM BUT THATS ONLY BECAUSE THERE ISNT A BETTER ENGINEERED MOTORCYCLE IN THE WORLD OTHERE THAN A HONDA

Re: FI. cage = weak

I have to explain that when I see these cage threads, I get a little defensive because we rode for years with frame sliders, race rearsets and had to do whatever we could to save our bikes from a beating. I rode my 900rr for 3 years without a cage and only broke one rearset and a load of case covers. I never replaced my plastics from a wreck or even clipons, so I know what can be prevented if you actually ride your bike like you respect it a little and want to preserve it. The cages make you put about half the effort into saving your bike, so of course it's going to take more beating. ever see those little executive ***** on someone's desk. You know, on the strings and you pull one back and it smacks the ***** and the end one swings up. Same concept on your bike....There's nothing to soften the blow, so logic would have it it's going to transfer to something it's bolted to. The fact that the loop is so close to the stator cover is why you should invest in a hardened case cover.

Call Teach. He's got the hookup with Woodcraft CFM. They make great stuff. I had a pair of their pegs that took a beating. I think a good set of solid mount rearsets, cage and case cover will keep you riding for a long time.

Sweet!! How good of a hookup are we talkin??

I'd have to agree with the whole gym thing too. I pretty much sacrafice my body in order to save my case covers. Been riding with my right side motor bolt snapped for the last couple of days and everytime I high side a left circle I sacrafice life and limb to make sure that side of the cage doesn't get hit hard. Okay, maybe not life and limb, but I try pretty damn hard.

Re: FI. cage = weak

Gotta learn to fall. Honestly my fi has taken some serious abuse. Latest one was last weekend I looped a ss when my hand brake just let go. To hot I guess. I thought the powers took some beating but it was heavy and I always hit my shins. Maybe your just having bad luck I dunno. Every one around here rocks fi and nobody has ever complained. I def don't agree that it's for pretty street bikes. just my

Re: FI. cage = weak

I'm rockin' the Woodcraft case cover(s) both sides on my 600RR. Soooo pretty. That, a cage and rearsets that don't fold up and there are no excuses. If you sha-kackle your bike with all that you should slow down a bit and exercise the word "progression."

why wouldnt you want your peg to fold or pivot ?
i thought this would be a good way to keep it from busting the frame.
