new jvc hard disc drive video cam.

I recently aquired the new jvc hard disc drive video camerea. Basicly its a camera without tapes or discs ,I take all of my foootage and save it onto a file on my comp. Then later after I edit and rearange clips I can save it to dvdits great for what I want to do make and edit my own stunt vids. I just had a few questions for anyone who is familiar with these cameras ,I want to save (print use as avatar)scenes that I pause from actual video ,but dont know how? And if it was possible is there a way or a special connection to use to take edited footage from my camera or from a dvd and transfer it to a mini dv tape? I have to get my footage into drew stone for the passion film ,if anyone could help with these questions I would greatly appreciate it,thanx........

all the video saved on that hard drive in the camera is pre compressed in mpeg-2 format, so good luck getting anything to look decent after it's been edited.
