I kno a kid whos mid-late 20s and lives with his mom...but in all truth its more of he took over his dads roll and even tho its his moms house, his mom lives with him kinda. He works his *** off for everything he has, he helps pay for a lot of **** and to be truthful his mom would most likely go crazy if there wasnt some one else around. He def makes enough where he could move out on his own but in my eyes hes paying pack his mom and taking care of her now.

***** not cheap anymore and jobs are paying less.
for a example. most jobs in cali pay 10 to 15 hr
thats 350 to 450 take home a week .
most 1 bedroom apts in so cal are about 900 a month
dont forget food maybe another 300 a month
200 for gas a month
150 for water and electric
oh and the car payment
and the insurance maybe 700 to 2k a yr depending on ur record.
the younger you are the harder it is to get a good paying job. unless your inolen and make video games.
bottom line is **** isnt cheap. stay at your parents till your ready to move out . or till they kick you out. but if you cant afford it then dont even try , you will dig your self in a hole . or if you have a chick that makes it alot easier.

+1
I have a couple friend that moved out because they wanted to, not because they had to, and now they wish they hadn't. They have to work 2 jobs just to afford it, they have no time for fun, and they just plain hate life...
I'm staying at home till I can afford to move out. If you don't like it, TOUGH!

I'm 24, lived on my own for a while for the hell of it, got a degree in Psychology and moved back to the basement cuz it's a lot cheaper.... More money to spend on your bike! As long as you get along with your parents, who cares. Sooner or later you'll want to move out for a good reason like a kid. Until then, my mommy still makes me snackys and I like it!
So
it's snacky time. :YEAH

depends on where you live, here in the NY area it is common to live with parents till 26 and older, rent or house is just way to expensive, most people dont move out till there married so they have two incomes paying the rent/mortgage...
I know a kid who is 33 just got married and he and his wife live in his parents house.... hahah

if ur not out at close to 18, it can cripple u...are u really guan be that motivated to moveout if mommy and daddy are paying for everything, and ur cashier job at price chopper is enuff spending $ for the week...u aint guan be motivated to do shyt....when u move out and teh real world hits u...then u might be motivated to re look ur finances, and wat u spend $ on....at 19 ur not suppose to have 2 bikes, a snoboard, and a car....u shud be driving a pinto and borrowing ur friends bike, and not leeching off ur parents....grow up ****ers....lol
im not sayin u cant ask for help, from your parents, and that u shudnt expect anything from them...but mommy and daddy shud no longer be doing ur laundry, changing ur sheets, and putting a roof ova ur head....i turn 18 in january...i graduate in june...i have till august to move out my self...or im being thrown out

I am going to comment here since it is a sore point with me. Don't condemn someones living arrangements unlesss you know all the circumstances. I was in a situation just like the one described earlier where I was 'living with mother' when I was 30 but it was really she was living with me. I moved out when I was 19 like you are supposed to and moved back in and out a couple times but when my father passed away my mother would have had to sell the house and move into a senior condo so I stayed with her so she could stay in the family house. The reactions I would get got really tiring and I would occasionally get into arguments over it. All I am saying is dont comment if you dont know the whole story, not everyone over 20 living at home is a mooch.

if ur out of highschool and you still live wit ur parents, get a job, start a 401k account, get ur *** into school and save as much cash as possible until you are finacially stable, then give ur parents a big thank you check for letting you bum off them, and get the f*** into ur own place

I'm 22 and a half and still living at home with no job. I do get benefits for an injury though. I moved out for 6 months but it was ****. No money, no food, no riding. I'm an adult so my parents let me do what I want with in reason so I moved back in and now my bikes are working, there's food in the fridge and I have time to go and learn a trade. I plan on staying here until I've finished all of my courses and try and start a business. My mum is more than happy to have me here and it doesn't bother my dad either.
