and I'm sure Drew will pay us all in swag.
Re: Drew Stone directing new film "Passion & Brotherhood" and looking for footage.
I'd think, right now with the sport still growing, it'd be tough to pay riders to appear in a dvd. For the very reason TheHate mentioned. I dropped more money on my documentary than I expect to make, but I figure the second one grosses more provided the first is really good.
And it's really good so far. It just takes longer than I thought to edit.

hmm a producer and two people who gave there **** away and now must defend rather then addmit that they got taken advantage of ithink it was darius that said some one trying to get you to ride and saying it will get you exposer is playing on your ego and trying to take advantage of you and trying to get you to ride for free maybe not adirect quote but close enough and ***** get real street credit come on im 38 years old i dont much care if i have street credit or not what are you 12and hate i dont know you at all but what you are saying is exactly what they want youto say think about it bro all im saying is dont throw your talent out the window you spent alot of time and effort to do what you do on your bike dont just give it away there was aflood of riders trying to give it away when this thread was started imagine what would happen if no onejust gave it away producers would maybe share the profit wow theres a thought pfft

Re: Exposure is way over rated!!
Don't get me started on this subject........I could go on longer than anybody's attention span would allow.
Bottom line is this: anybody that is hyping your "exposure" is appealing to your ego to get out of paying you....and unfortunately it works because more than half of why (I) we ride is for recognition and props, so the ego is pretty easy to appeal to. But, the mortgage doesn't get paid on props or applause. Gas stations don't take autographs as far as I know and the last time I went to publix with a conveyor full of groceries and told the lady my name was Matt Gorka, she held her hand out not to shake mine, but for my debit card. Sad but true. At your stage in the game, it's not a d!ck move to demand money for performance and anybody who says so has no idea of the sacrifices and freebies you've given along the way.
my bad not darius but he was saying some thing very close to matt btw i think both these guys have some street cred *****

sick *** back flip dont take it personal bro ive seen some of your stuff mad props i just think people should share in the wealth when some one is making alot of money on your skills and yes the producer does risk but so does the rider as you clearly state just reminds me of rappers selling millions of cds and the producers make all the money and the rapper gets the industry standard but hey at least he gets some thing unlike most stunt riders ive done a few shows and some commercials i dont make my living riding but i still wont do them for free and i hope every body will start getting paid for there skills but untill people stop giving it away that wont happen

Once again; THIS FILM IS OPEN TO EVERYONE ON THE PLANET EARTH. This includes Australia, Tenn. & Alaska!! Both crews and individual riders are welcome to the party.
It's official, A segment on each of the following subject matters sorts some things out and will focus a few people (Including myself) up.
1) Quads - I've already seen some great footage so let's make a great quad segment in the film!!!!
2) 50's - As some know a while back I was going to "Drop the hammer" on a 50 film but other priorities intervened. I'm stoked to get some great 50 footage and cut a nasty segment. Can you hear me Big Whiteboy Matt???
3) "Ice Ride-in" - Let's do this you guys!! Arctic Assault from Alaska you're on!! Pat in NH and all you other N.E. Cont. guys let's get out on the ice. I would like to come out and shoot some of this if I can in upstate New York or even closer to home here in Vermont. McNeil Bros?
So that's Three strong subject matters right there that will give some of us an initial direction. There is a new newsletter going out next week that is going to address this new film in detail. Sign up for it at www.stonefilmsnyc.com

liduno, profit sharing is not an issue, but if I had to pay people upfront to shoot my documentary, I would not have been able to shoot it. Travel and equipment set me back more than 20 large. So, some people bring it, some people want it brought to them and a handful of cash. Drew appears to be bringing it, he does give riders exposure. More people will see you ride in a Drew Stone film than will see you at any competition or event you go to. After the event is over, they are done seeing you. Drews dvds get played, watched and loaned to friends.
So on one hand, yeah, watch people that want something for nothing. On the other hand, recognize this sport is not big enough yet to support itself completely. If you're going to be riding anyhow, and someone wants to film it, it probably isn't going to hurt you.
If someone wants you to pay them to "promote" you, they are probably full of crap. They make money by making you money.
Media deals at this level have no profit gurantee. Besides why worry about someone paying you to do something you're going to do anyhow? Events and competitions pay and when the dvd market gets bigger, you guys will have more leverage to start making demands. The best thing you can do is promote the hell out of any video that features you or someone you know.

Re: Drew Stone directing new film "Passion & Brotherhood" and looking for footage.
Just shut up, its our footy and if we wanna give it to someone who started this whole stunt dvd thing in the first place then we will. Get some footy of yourself and you bogard it and see where it'll get you. I feel honored to be in a Drew Stone film and would only expect exposure from some something like this, not money. The money will come from the exposure moron.
