Re: 05 gix 6 opinions

ya well i'm sponsored.........state farm.lol. when it cracks it cracks, just like anything else. everything breaks, even bullitproof hondas will break if it's on just the right spot. these bikes weren't made for this.
it just so happens gsxr's just do it a lil more often.

how many new gixxers have you personally seen with ****ed up frames? Any bike with a cast subframe is going to have problems tho. I'm building a 600RR right now and I can see how people might have problems. All the new bikes have them and they are all weak. I'm not worried. Even when I was riding an 01 750 I never once broke a subframe and it was never reinforced or braced in any way. I just didnt buy into the whole bar trick fad. The only thing that really sucks about the gixxers is they still have the same shitty oil sump design.

I think it's like 70-90 I can't remember what I paid for it. FYI, you have to pull the exhaust off to get it installed, so plan about 3 or 4 hours of it (not too hard, just time consuming).

I did a few scrapes on the bar but decided it's not really my thing, subframe held fine, I was gorilla scraping for some of them. I'm getting the MXD round scrape bar in the mail very shortly and looking forward to it, and a new tail section.

I'd attach pics but I don't have any yet of the bar, but it's pretty much the same as the Jbeats 905 bar from what I can see.

the 3-4 hours was cage, pickup and clutch change all together. getting the FI loop can be difficult alone sometimes.

the Stuntex looks like the stock one without the big *** collector/funnel looking thing on it.

Re: 05 gix 6 opinions

Subframes are weak if they are not reinforced but its a simple fix the only thing you may not like is the clip-ons being low and thats it, everything else about the bike is great endo's burnouts acrobatics circles all take less effort.
keep em both and ride em both ride em both and make the decision for yourself because everyone is different. Good luck and enjoy
