How was the first (bigbike) stuntrider of the world?
I talked a lot of about this topic with Kevin Carmichael and AC Farias. They definitely saw that Doug Domokus did the first 12'o clock wheelies on his 6 cilindered Z1000. When we talking about only the big bike stunting.
Anybody has got another information?

of us in North Carolina that did 12 o'clocks and mile long wheelies... I'm not
saying we were the first... I just know that in 1974 we were doing them...
I was in college, and we did shows in the parking lots clear back then.
However we never did all the stunts they do today, like high chairs, etc...
Just wheelies... oh, and we all rode Kawasaki Z-1s (900 cc) which came out
years before the Z1000

I'm 51 and still riding like I did as a kid... can't seem to give it up...
I'm only good on long wheelies... can't do any of the new cool stuff....
circles... God I wish I could do circles...
I ride a Kawasaki ZX12-R... mile long wheelies no problem.

You'd think that after doing wheelies for 30 years I could do a damn circle!!!
I'm too afraid of dropping the 12... big $$$ to fix... guess I need a 600
that I can toss around... hahahaha maybe a 250...

Have you got some fotos or footages in the early times?
How knows who was the stuntrider in the first Mad-max movie, who did burnouts and making wheelies in the scene? I think it was Domokus too.

The young riders learning circles in some weeks/days because they pushed to do, cause everybody does it. When I started learning circles in 2002, no one did it in our country. I needed 3 years for learning, but I doesn't do it perfect till today.

Re: How was the first (bigbike) stuntrider of the world?
That was my point... if you do someting over and over for 30 years, you
get real good at that... but if you don't try to learn NEW things,
you never really grow in that area... I sort of went off more on drag racing
and other areas... not stunting...
Now I'm fabricating a 12 o'clock bar for the ZX12-R... with a rear brake
built right into the bar.
When I fall, and even get just get a little roadrash, it takes longer to heal
up... I'd give anything to be 18 again...
I have a pic somewhere of riding my Honda CBX down the interstate on
the back wheel... that was the first bike I could wheelie for miles on end...
I bought it new in 1979... and sold it 1980 to buy an ultralight aircraft.
By the way a CBX WAS a 6 cylinder... air cooled.

This picture is real old and worn, so when it was scanned and enlarged it
didn't come out good... but in the pic you can see the 3 pipes on the
one side of the front tire... and three are on the other side.
Taken somewhere in '79 or '80.... geez you guys make me feel old!!!

Re: How was the first (bigbike) stuntrider of the world?
Oh we did "shows" whenever enough hot chicks were around... but nothing
organized... that just didn't exist back then... and I was a full time college
student...
Those were great times back then... it was fun to run from cops, not a
felony like it is now...
None of them had copters... and radios didn't link to other units etc... not
like all this high tech stuff.
One time the North Carolina Highway Patrol got this new "pursuit" car... and
decided to chase three of us... long story short, he burned up the motor
trying to keep up. He rolled to a stop and got out... We stopped to make
sure he was ok... and once he waved, we saluted him and took off.
We had RESPECT for cops, even though we didn't like them... and if we
ever saw one broke down or whatever, we stopped to help.

Re: How was the first (bigbike) stuntrider of the world?
Yeah it was the golden age. In Hungary in my country they chase me some times. But with most of the droids (cop) I am in good relation. Some cops coming to my training area and watching my stunts. Last time I tried the "pursuit" bike a 92' XJ 600. You can imagine how fast this bike is with 250 kilos. I made some short wheelies but they ask me the bike back shortly.
I am not wearing a numberplate when I go to practise, only when I go to city to manage anything. Here they have no choppers, only cars and old bikes.
When it is fancy for you come and live in Hungary.
