Bone stock 03 ex250.
It really dont matter if you believe me or not. I think your 250 was ****ed up. That is why you have a hard time believing it.
Like I said it took forever to get there and I may have had a tail wind. They're really not as bad as you think. They are a blast to take on long rides. They are comfortable and get 50+ miles to the gallon.
If you want to learn how to ride slow BP wheelies they are the bomb. Mainly because thats all they can really do. Just get a very slow roll, clutch the shyt out of it and catch it with the brake.
Don't hate because you couldn't do shyt on yours.

First. And unless your real good with the brake I would not try to shift while up on one. Second gear is alot taller on the 250 than first. If you shift with the front up as soon as second hits, it hits like a sling shot throwing the front way past bp.

And Kelm,
Mine has a mild headshake if I take my hands off the bars. I've riden a few of them and they ALL did this to me. I figured it was because of my weight and the soft suspension? I can see it being worse if you bent the rim, but I think if the rim was bent you'd be able to feel it with your hands on as well. Try rolling about 35 or 40 mph and just lightly touching the bars to see if you can feel it.
You can also raise the front and slowly spin the wheel. Use something like a pencil placed against the forks so it just touches the lip of the rim. Watch to see if the rim moves farther away or pushes against the pencil in spots.
If it is bent a front wheel should be pretty cheep.

About the clutch... I dont know about the older ones but mine has rubber in the clutch. You have to remember that these bikes are built with the beginner in mind. This makes the clutch very forgiving.
Mine is a 6 speed tranny & yes I've ridden BP wheelies on it.

Re: EX250 Frame Sliders

my 2fiddy is 6 speed, 94 and i have had no problems with it. its an 11 year old clutch and i can wheelie that thing real good. single rotor front brake and i can stoppie it pretty good. 95mph it runs great (sounds like its going to explode due to the 12,000rpm!) but it ran fine at 95.

its going mid september but its time to move on up to something bigger.

moral of my ramblings, dont hate 250 ridders, its a good bike and wanting framesliders and all is cool with me
