whats a good camcorder to get some good and clear videos at both day and night?

 

please set a price limit, there are a few cameras that are super pimp, but they are ~$2000

almost anything sony works good. i have always had sony and the camera that i alway used to film was was about 5 years old but was still top of the line. it was a trv17 and it costed about 1100 brand new. i think anything in the 600 and up range from sony should be decent. i am curently useing an older camera still but it shots pretty good fotage. my camera is a dcr-pc100 from sony.

 

im talkin prolly $600-1000 price range...nothin too expensive

 

Night shot stuff? Get the biggest lens you can in that price range. Don't be getting one of the really compact cameras. JUNK for low light conditions.

 

sony camcorders has the best night shot i have ever seen, but my gl1 works good in low light but doesnt have night shot.

 

my jvc dr270 works fine in daylight, but not the best (it works, just not great) in low light.

i paid ~$300 and for what i am doin with it, it works fine.

when i get better, i will get a better camera

 

Sony 1.0MP Handycam - what do you think about this one?

 

don't get a dvd camcorder. The cameras cost more than comparable mini dv cameras, dvds cost more, and the quality won't be as good since it records compressed mpeg2.

For around $800, the best is the pana gs250
For around 1200, the best is the pana gs400
For around 2000, the best is the sony hc1

I bought a handicam HC-21 it's really not that bad of a camera but when I put it on my comp it looks like ****, not to mention it has nothing to hook up a helmet cam.

I just got a new job so once I save up and get my bike fixed and **** I'm going to ebay my camcorder and get one of those 800 dollar panasonics as cheap as possible.

Hell I got my Sony for 146 dollars brand new on clearance at sound track, and it was originally 400, so I think I can make money when I sell it.
