Re: where do you get your sprockets?

Sprocket Specialist has been running way behind making big sprockets for about a year now, but they have got the aluminum supply issue worked out and are catching up on their backorders. A 65 I just ordered is expected in 3 weeks, and by August they should be back to their usual 2 or 3 day turnaround on orders

Re: where do you get your sprockets?

Yes I did. I work in a dealer and have sold their sprockets for years so this whole situation really surprised me. When I ordered this last sprocket I pressed the lady on whether or not the 3 weeks was accurate since my last order was supposed to be 4 to 6 weeks and it took 3 MONTHS. They swear the situation is worked out and the sprockets will show up.

Re: where do you get your sprockets?

sprocketspecialists have been very helpful and professional with my recent orders. Infact they said my last order +3 rear sprocket would take 4 weeks because they are all on backorder and have em made then shipped out, I said thats fine, so the next day she called me back letting me know my credit card is going to be billed and they are going to ship out my sprocket. I also ordered the x-ring vm chain.

Re: where do you get your sprockets?

I sell Thrust sprockets and used to sell Sprocket Specialists at my shop. SS told me that they make ALL aluminum sprockets to order now and that it will always be 3-4 weeks wait.

My opinions on the products that I have seen/dealt with:

Sprocket Specialist - decent product/used to stock large sprockets in 520 only (mostly for dirtbikes and were drilling to streetbike patterns)and now only to order/long wait for product

Thrust (Motoheaven) - very high quality product(tighter tolerances-fits chain very well)/carries all sizes in all widths/stocks many popular sizes/very fast

Vortex - ok product for non-stunter/wears out very quickly

the only way to go---sprockets last a long time, tighter tolerances and a great buisness to deal with.
