who reinforces there subs

wondering how many stunters out there reinforce there subframes, or get one custom built out of a sturdier metal. i bent and split mine in two, and wondering what route to go now.

just build one out of wood... way stonger than any metal out there... i used balsa wood cause it lighter and makes my bike faster......

Re: who reinforces there subs

Yo I'm on my second sub on my 929--tried everything humanly possible to support--ultimately, nothing works--all you do when you support is move cracks to the weakest point. Right now I got chromoly ties running from my passenger peg mounts to my rearset mounts--I crack my subframe by the passenger peg mounts now. My sub cracked all the way through on the left hand side so today I took a flat steel plate and bolted that ***** up right into my sub over the crack and its holding up for now. Life sucks--subframes blow--just try not to tap that **** too hard--I'm working bugs outta my stunting all the time.

Re: who reinforces there subs

Racing 905 went buck wild on my GSXR subframe/wheelie bar that thing is invincible.. when Apex nick looped that ***** out it hit the bar so hard it flung the whole bike in the air and landed her on the nose.. flatland backflip style...

my kawi on the other hand isnt braced at all.. bbut i rarely hit the tail or do long scrapes on that bike.. should brace it though...

any kawi (636) guys have input on that? how fragile are these subframes?

Re: who reinforces there subs

I put 1/8 plate over the cast area on the 929 sub.
I have the same sub on since I got the bike well over a year ago
