is there a name for this stunt?
is there a name for this stunt?
I'm not exactly a walking dictionary when it comes to stunt terms...I thought up of a stunt the other day. I have yet to see anyone do it/attempt it, but obviously, that doesn't mean it hasn't been done/attempted.
Here's how it would break down. First, you'd need some sort of front pegs on the front wheel, like something you'd have on a bmx bike....something you can stand on. The rider would stand on the front pegs, facing towards the rear of the bike, and basically clutch one up. I guess you could go cross-handed; lots of possible variants to the theme, but i envisioned it with your left hand working the throttle and your right hand modulating the clutch.
Has anyone seen this attempted or even done? if not, i call dibs on the name.

Re: is there a name for this stunt?
well ok, screw the naming thing...my skill level and testicular fortitude tells me I'm a ways away from attempting this...has anyone ever seen it done or attempted?
Re: is there a name for this stunt?
i've done it with my girl on the front. starts off on the pegs then kicks her legs straight up in the air. i call it diver down. not the best shot of it but that's it. i've also done one where she stands on the pegs with her hands out. i believe there is a shot of that one in Black Sheep Squadron.
Re: is there a name for this stunt?
congrats....but I'm not talking about a tandem stunt. have you ever tried standing on the pegs and pulling one up while facing backward? that's what I'm asking.
Re: is there a name for this stunt?
Id call it "suicide"
seems like commin down from that wheelie you better have a good damper i could see some nasty tank slappers/gettin your *** run over commin outa that trick. Ill leave that trick to the pros haha.

Re: is there a name for this stunt?
yeah, i think it would be a might-tricky....but obviously, there are guys out there that have the skills and ***** to try this...I've just never seen it done...I sure would love to see it, though.
Re: is there a name for this stunt?
wheelie steve is a pimp, thanks for them stickers. But keeping with the post, i think it would be a cool trick but i'm not trying it. i predict nasty wobbles, going right into an unwanted stoppie or at least falling off from the impact of landing. if anyone does it i want video!!!!
Re: is there a name for this stunt?
meh...oh well...for some reason this stunt was in my head and I kept thinking about it and thinking about it...was just hoping someone had tried it...****, I hate winter.

I definitely don't think anyone has done/tired it before, and i have to agree with everone that is saying that it is a bad idea.
I also think that you would have a really hard time getting the rear tire to grab with all your weight up front...would most likely just burn out and if you did finally get enough traction to lift your wieght, then the bike would be hauling *** and good luck controlling a backward wheelie at high speed.
I don't believe anyone has ever successfully accomplished a switchback wheelie with their feet on the normal pegs and I have heard that some have died trying.

p.s. If you really wanted to try, I would switch the controls from side to side (so your clutch and throttle would be in a "normal" position while you faced the back of the bike)...if you are gonna try something that dangerous, might as well take out some of the possibility of you confusing what you input to the bike.
