Hey, someone throw a poll up for the hell of it.. Personally, I wear it most of the time, but if you can find a nice quiet slow backroad in the middle of nowhere on a warm summer day with a buncha guys (okay this is starting to sound gay ) but just riding and chatting and actually being able to hear eachother, it's pretty sweet.. for a change of pace.

Re: Why do so many stunters NOT wear helmets?

Not tryin to start anything like Baller has stated but for all yall whose talkn all this stuff about "well what if they got it on lock or locked down". I hear all this crap about tricks bein on lock but aint nothin ever on lock. U can have the best stuntr in the world and they may think they have everything on lock but what if your foot slips off or there tire blows. Theres always circumstances too throw you off your game. Like you seen Brando flip that stoppie. He is definately one of the most talented riders out right now and it just takes a second for somethin to happen. And also what about Kyle from Triple X. I'm sure he didnt think that his clutch was gonna snap like it did. Just goes to show you that stuff happens. THis is just my so dont get all butthurt on what I had to say.

Peace JUstin

Grow the **** up cool guys. What are you gonna be,like 60 yrs old out there with your bandanna and baggy pants and being GANGSTA???*******!

I think if more stunters wore gear, they would get more respect from the rest of the motorcycle community, and yes, it would be more professional, but because someone chooses not to wear gear does not make them an *******, nor does it have anything to do with their sexual orientation. I do not think Europeans wearing gear is the reason it is blowing up faster over there. Why is Formula 1 big over there, and not over here? Why is Motorcycle Road Racing more popular over there? There is just more of a market for that kind of thing in Europe.

Mandatory here but it is kind og "open." Headwear is needed, i have seen guys wearing beanies and nothing happening. As for me, I always wear mine, and still will in whichever state i happen to go to.

Re: Why do so many stunters NOT wear helmets?

The only time I ride without a helmet is in my parking lot when i'm tweaking stuff, adjusting things, etc. and getting on and off the bike a lot. Those stats from the other forum are useless. I've taken x-rays of tons of MCA patients and almost every single one who wore a helmet left the hospital in a reasonably short period of time. Most of the ones who didn't either had their brains eviscerated (straight to the morgue) or had a long and expensive journey through intensive care (coma) from severe head trauma. Lots of other stuff can happen to you besides head trauma so I'll keep it relevant and stop there.

I dont want to bother anyone with a long-*** post; you all know how to make your own decisions.
I could care less anymore if someone chooses not to wear a helmet.

Edit again: I'm only talking about the patients i've x-rayed i'm sure there's lots who didnt go to the hospital or who haven't been seriously injured.

Re: Why do so many stunters NOT wear helmets?

If you dont want to wear a helmet when your riding thats your choice, but in a comp it should be manditory. You think anyone would let riders compete in FMX without a bucket? If dude splits his wig open on national TV what kind of publicity do you think the sport would get?

simple own time your choice comps should be regulation

Helmets

Whats everyones thoughts. I used to wear one most of the time. Some small shows or slow stuff I would go no helmet. But after this summer I always will...
