12 bar with a difference
Re: 12 bar with a difference
that's awesome - something I've had a think about before - good skills on gettin it made up then
tips? use the back brake so the bar doesnt slam down too hard and snap your bike - check the sticky on wheelies, on the "how to" section on the main forums.
go for it. :YEAH

Re: 12 bar with a difference
To stop the back from slamming down hard you could replace the wheels with Wagon Wheels though maybe a bit big. Something like Viscounts or Jaffa cakes would work better I should imagine...

jaffas. it would be a waste of viscounts. jaffas are crap though, so use them
Re: 12 bar with a difference
wicked... The bloke at work wants to make one for my pushbike haha. One that just bolts on and off. Got the idea sorted now, thinking i might get wheels as on a push bike i wont have much speed to drag a bar... All for tha laugh lol

Re: 12 bar with a difference
Wow insane tech setup! Do you reckon you could get it so far back that you could ride it onto the skate wheels only? -but then I suppose you'd need yet another 12 bar bolted on the end of the sk8 set to touch down after them!
You're one brave guy - I like the fact that a steel bar slows you down a bit - but I'm feelin old-skool after seeing this.

thanx for the comments guys, but i got a problem now!, i took it out again 2nite n it seems that after hittin them so much the vibrations r makin the nutz *** loose holdin the wheels on, n the spindle holdin them on is also bent, so gunna av to sort summet out this weekend, ahh well **** happens!!!
Re: 12 bar with a difference

Re: 12 bar with a difference
yeah. Things will happen, better to have your problems with it now, so you can iron out the creases, instead of it doing it when your really confident and something going wrong!
Fair play to you though! Cant wait for pics

Re: 12 bar with a difference
looks nuts
u gota keep em
what about a hardend steel axle so it dont bend?
and at each end conect it to a braceing bar that runs the the same lenth as the wheels behind the wheels to take the load like a fork brace over a mud gaurd
cos thos wheels look mad just try and get him to make mkII the return!

Re: 12 bar with a difference
Those skate wheels normally have a cro-mo steel axle (still bend though). You don't need fast spinning bearings how your using them, so drill out the wheels centres to take a thicker bar/axle.
Still looks mad and scary to me - but I can't keep my 2-cents to myself where teccy stuff is on a thread.
