where do we really stand?

Well after reading the ace cafe thread about Alex the **** and his fast and dangerous stuntin, that endangered everyones lives that were stood viewing, it made me wonder where we stand in society... cos it seems that we dont tolerate this kind of behaviour within our own group... and this "alex" image is exactly what the public hates about us so much and because of one idiot they will auto asume that we all behave this way... so where do we stand cos we as a group of like minded individuals seem to agree that this behaviour is wrong!!! so what is cool and not cool in the stunt world

my own personal opinion is that we should be free to hurt ourselves just like when people like to pay to drink toilet water or beat the crap out of one and other for sexual kicks...this is all legal....these people are the ****ers that put us away for wheelies...(if you were a manipulative cruel person hey be a judge if you were a pedo hey be a school teacher)

And how many stunters are real criminals by that i mean people that get what they want in life by screwing others!!

it would seem that even stunters have morals!

Re: where do we really stand?

I think anyone in any sport should be able to do what they like when they like whether it endangers themselves or not, BUT if it endangers OTHER people then we have to start to think... potentially riding through the road at the ace normally could endanger someone but drifting at 60mph is a LOT more likely.. it's all about risk assessments, if anyone does this at work they'll understand a bit more... anyone could potentially hurt someone at the ace for instance and the r1 bloke might never hurt someone, it's just it's been said he's ALREADY crashed into the crowd, injuring people yet he just cheers, and ****s off.. that's out of order.

And I'm not a criminal, never have been never will be.. I'm taxed, insured, MOT'd, considerate, I just want to stunt, improve, meet like minded people, have fun, enter a competition for a laugh and have a good time.. if I get twos n blues behind me, I'll pull over and take the rap (or try and talk myself out of it ) I think of stunting as a sport and hope the police will one day see it the same way (within reason)

p.s gling did you get my PM?

Re: where do we really stand?

it is true about some people giving us a bad name. I always do my best to keep other's safe when we did the royal oak last year and the ace or just our spot. i make time to talk to people at the bike meets who are interested about stunting and need help, i do my best to not come across big headed or arsey. so when he is like that it seems to me a waist off time by us all.

just my

I like the on the dge stuff, and I like taking risks. but not if it will risk innocent people. OK, if their ******* then ****'em, but not the normal joe public. Like if I was going to crash and it was a choice between mr and mrs normal or Mungo? so dude, but your getting it

serious though, we always have to look out for the spectators.

i see what your gettin at mate, but on the other hand how many 5yr old kids run out infront off a rock climber and get killed???
so you can sort off see what they mean.
there should be a way like, murder 1 murder 2 in the usa, but dangerus driving 1 and 2. 1 bin drink drivin, racing, getting chased, the 2 should be praticing stunting and stupid driving in an area where noone was at risk so not as many points or just a fine.

how can having a bold tyre be the same fine and points as doin 30 or 40mph over the speed limt???

Re: where do we really stand?

i rember seeing some guy doing wicked wheelies with total control get well messed up down at the bridge and it was some guy on L plates that turned around half way on the bridge
the kid had no respect for the guy doing it for real.

makes me think the crowds need to pull back a bit more and have more respect for what there seeing some times it gets like lemmings or somink a bit of crowd management wouldent go a miss like some barriers at streetfighters u ended up with a tiny tiny spot due to sher numbers u guys were trying to push the crowds back but it should be someone elles job i hope it dosent take somone getting hurt to change the rule book cos its all so new here people get way too close.
i like the slow stuff and its safer for everyone theres more skill init or it would be so dam hard to do :YEAH

Re: where do we really stand?

When i ride my pushbike(i know its a bit different to a road bike) normally i get kinda bored and daydream, but if im on the back wheel, im thinking about so much, like cars, car doors, people running out etc etc, i seem to concentrate alot more because it may seem to be a bit riskier than normal, but i feel in alot more control. Stunters, especially the ones who do it all slow, must have the same feel, they have so much on their minds, if they were riding normally, they may not be thinking...So i would hardly see it as dangerous riding... if ya see what i mean or am i just weird?
