It's a bit "ghetto" but...

I finally extended my subframe and cut a hole in the rear fender :YEAH

Not sure how strong it is really but I was jumping up and down on it and it didn't snap

All I gotta do is widen the hole I cut a bit, tighten up a few bolts, maybe drill a hole through subframe for another support bolt and then got to cut down my number plate holder and re-mount it.. hopefully the whole thing won't be too noticeable (other than the hole )

IF the extended subframe was to snap or fall off... the fender itself should support my weight enough to not fall off the bike... but I'm pretty confident it's fine, it's some steel edging stuff I got from B&Q.. meant for corners of wood or something.. not perfect but I reckon it does the trick for now... we'll see...

I will post pictures later this evening when I finish doing the above ^^

Re: It's a bit "ghetto" but...

All done and dusted !

I drilled through the subframe on left side and stuck another bolt in, the whole thing is sturdy as a rock now... I doubt that's going ANYWHERE

I had to cut down the undertray bit and remount the number plate.. When I get 5 minutes I'm going to drill the right side too and stick another bolt in just to be on the safe side.. it's only to rest my foot on when wheelying, NOT a 12 bar so no real heavy weight/contact on it.. so it should be fine..

Here it is.. gotta get a file tomorow and clean up the edges..

Yer okay it does look a bit "flimsy" but 1) you can't see it all that well when just looking at the bike, and 2) seriously it is sturdy, I jumped up and down on it and I'm not exactly a feather weight

p.s sorry Dave! I had to cut through the sticker

Good mod! It's great when people hack **** out their bikes rather than buffing up the shiny bits -well played dude.
I'm junking my home-bodged 12bar and replacing it with one that I can stand on, keep us posted on how the standing on the rail helps the wheelies. Will it be loop-city or d-lux control???

Funnily enough I looped it first time out, see my other thread

The theory is great but it needs some adjustments, hole needs to be bigger for starters. But it is pretty good.
