Lazy-man's way to locate new potential riding spots

Google has a new free satellite image map service that can zoom-in down
to the street level...

Pretty neat tool to look for those out of the way parking lots & new developments...

Check-it:

http://www.google.com/maps

(click on "Satellite" button in the upper right corner" and zoom-in using the slider on the left...

The images around my house seem to be about 1.5yrs old, though...

Uummm.....weird!
I think these images are archived and are at least a couple of years old.
I just looked at where i work and they just completed a new High School right across the street from us, and it opened this pass fall. This thing is huge...looks more like a small community college.
Well, the satalite imagry shows a huge empty 20 acre lot. I know for a fact that they emptied this lot about 2 years ago and it's taken about 1-1/2 to 2 years to build this school.

No picture of school.....just half empty lot.

So....
