first impressions of the joker tall boy kit

i like it alot took about an hour to put it on.. definetly can hold a wheelie longer.. and there is definetly leg room now. feel like i gotta learn to ride it again!! i actually think i should have went with the standard kit not the tall kit but i am planning on getting a taller seat so that will make a difference. the kit is very easy to install and looks great also.. i will post some pics tommorow after i put the new black plastic on!

Re: first impressions of the joker tall boy kit

I agree. Ive been running the Joker kit for about a week now. The MX bars make the bike a lot more stable, and easier to control then the stock bars. I wanted BMX bars, but I found the Joker Tallboy kit from DennisKirk.com for $171 shipped, so decided I couldnt pass that up. At first I didnt like the MX bars, but after riding with them for a while Im beginning to like them. Like you said, the fit and finish on this bar kit is excellent, and I really liked that fact that this kit came with EVERYTHING you needed to install. It included cables, kill switch and all. :YEAH

2Nutty, are you running the Tallboy forward or just the tallboy? I actually wish mine was a little taller.

I dont bang my knees on the MX bars, and the the cheaper BMX kits I saw didnt come with cables, etc. I like the Joker kit, and dont regret buying it.

Re: first impressions of the joker tall boy kit

I bang the hell out of my knees with my Applied MX bar setup. And it's 1 1/8th clamps so I can't even get a ATV bend bar. So i'm looking for a good replacement.

Anyone want to buy an Applied MX Bar setup?

Re: first impressions of the joker tall boy kit

Are the applied clamps to wide for a set of tag mini bars or something like that?
