I was wondering if you can ride Honda XR50's on the street and be legal? I know a lot of guys say you can, but then again some people say you can't.
Does anyone know if there leagal to ride on the street? :YEAH

Add lights and turn signals and you can register them in Ohio. I don't know about your states regulations.

the cops around my place have drove past me twice on main roads and they never stopped but I don't live in the middle of the city. Me and fiveo ripped up the streets in Columbus but saw no po po{except him of course}. So just go for it dude and try not to get caught.

yea i live in Canada and u can road legal 50s... mopheads and scooters r all 50cc so they say u can legalize 50s on the streets here

ive seen close to half a dozen ppl ride legal 50s on the road

also u need lights, turn signals etc etc

 

Well in California :YEAH , This is what has been stated by cops...

You can ride it in the street, Nothing bigger than a 50cc or you will need "head lights and blinkers,brake light" and an M2 or something like that........ You can ride it on bike lanes with a Dot approved helmet and a valid CA dl, at night you will need the same as a Regular Bike a Head light or something like it and a red flasher or light on the back... Other than that follow all traffic laws and ur set.

Just some FYI, but for that just make a trip over the the Local station and find out, but make sure you go after you read what the DMV book tells you. Here So far its ok

but if it's legal on the street, that means any infractions, ie. wheelies, could go on you driving record. personally i'd rather just have the $150 dollar fine and not have it associated with my driving record.

 

Well i really doubt they will give you a Exebition of speed on a 50, But that is one thing i did not ask about....hmmm

I know that it lands in the same situation as riding a regular bike, but you need a DL becuase its motorized... or something like that, I dint pay much attention to the Cop after he said i could ride it in the street. :YEAH

 

Yea **** gettin it legal... by the time you've figured it out how to and spent all the money on makin it "street legal", all you've done is set urself up for a royal ****in by the po's.

Trust me, you don't want reckless driving on your record... after insurance costs, ticket costs, and loosing your license for 6 months (atleast if you get one in PA), it really doesn't make any sense to bother making it legal.

Worst case is you gotta bail out your fiddy.... NEVER give them your license... and try not to carry it on you just in case.

got stopped by two different cops yesterday...one just wanted to chat...the other asked "what are you guys doing?"...to which i replied "being dumb!....you?"
he said "the skate park closed at dark...time to go home" (it was 10pm). rode home on two fiddies and a fiddy quad.

 

I got a plate for my bitch yesterday rode all around town It was great

 

fu(k the police!!! If you get caught, tell them I said it was ok for you to ride through town on your fiddy, Trust me they'll let you go.

 

We have decided to ride until we get yelled at. Im sure it is only a matter of time, hell it wont be the first time. My friends have even had thier Bicycles impounded by our local popos. Some of them are cool as hell, while others like playing tough cop.

 

COPS just suck

 

I guess living in Vegas has its perks then. WE ride down the strip all the time. In fact we have are motocross 50s that top out at just under 70 and we have ridden it on the 15 freeway for a couple of miles.
