Getting fiddy soon, need advice...
Getting fiddy soon, need advice...
I'm planning on getting a fiddy within the next couple of weeks. I don't know too much about fiddy's, so advice is needed.
Here are my options:
1) find a used fiddy and save an average of 200 bucks or so (not knowing how many hours are on it, and how it was taken care of)
2) buy a new one
3) buy a pretty hopped up '03 with bars, pegs, white plastics, seat, springs, skid plate, 88cc kit, etc for 800 bucks more than new. i know the guy who's selling it, and didn't really ride it much.
Now, my question is which way should I go? I've never rode a fiddy with a big bore kit so I can't compare from experience. I plan to stunt around and mabye take it to some fiddy trails they have around here. I'm a crack head when it comes to hobbies, and I tend buy anything and everything. Would I end up buying the 88cc kit later if I don't go with option 3 (what I saying is will I want more power later?) Is the 88cc kit good for stunts? Should I just buy option 3 and save myself some bucks in the future?
Direction needed. Thanks!

Re: Getting fiddy soon, need advice...
ummmmmmmm option 3 sounds good, even if that is your first fiddy you've ever rode you wont know what a stock fiddy feels like, if its got all that stuff done to it, you know how the guy took care of it jus my

When buying a used fifty, check for rust on frame and swingarm, make sure that the forks arent bent out. Check under the seat to make sure the frame isnt cracked, cuz that’s an easy place to get ripped off on, also check to see if they had just wiped it down before you got there, by checking for heavy build ups of dust, if there are lots of dust in some places as well as dirt and mud, if there are major build ups in places, then the owner probably didn’t take very good care of it and probably just did a quick wipe down before you got there,
Make sure it starts on first or second kick, take it for a test ride make sure it shifts smoothly and sounds like it runs good.
oh and on second thot, i change my mind about wut you sould do, i think you sould buy a new rc50x they have everything that you need to start off riding, if you buy a stock fifty you will need to upgrade the simple things such as bars clamps and such but if you go with the rc 50 you will already have the necessities!
