modifying seat
has anyone adding extra padding to the stock seat? i dont feel like spending $100 bucks on one. I was thinking about taking to an auto interior place and seeing if they could add some foam and recover it. any body tried this yet?
When I purchased my fast 50 graphics and gripper seat cover I slipped in a piece of dense foam under the factory foam toward the rear of the seat, like the foam used w/ most mouse pads. lay the factory foam back down and restapled the gripper cover. Their is enough room to fit additional foam under the gripper cover. The reason I installed it under the factory foam is so you will not see seams , looks as smooth and is more comfortable than just the factory foam. not a HUGE inprovement but defanatly not any way near the 100 for the tall foam kit. Im betting you could unstaple the factory cover and squeeze a additional foam under the factory cover. The gripper cover seemed more strechable than the factory though.
check out my photo gallary. i got some 2" foam from jo anne fabrics (tons of MILF's work in there) and jammed it under my stock foam and covered it with fur. its pretty cool but yer *** gets wet after u wash yer bike. u also slide off real easy when doing 1 handed stunts. im gonna replace the fur with a Fast50's black cover. i put one of those covers on a seat with stock foam and there is about 3" of material on each side that needs to be trimmed. so there is plenty of material there if u wanted to add foam. if anyone does it, reply and let us know how it is.
