a few ?'s about handlebars

i'm wondering what the 6, 7, or 8" measurements are from (where to where), and what is the stock bar's height? i've seen bmx sites that offer even more measurements like width, degree of sweep and wall thickness, but most 50s sites offer only one measurement. also which bars do and don't have a bend in them? (that's what i want) i'd think that most of the bmx style bars do, but from a lotta the pictures you can't tell at all. i know that there are quite a few different heights availible for bar clamps so i'm not sure which combination i'm going to consider (lower bar height / taller clamp, or vice versa). does anyone have any recommendations? also do the aftermarket grips fit on both 7/8" and 1" diameter bars? thanks.

Rise is the height of the bar from the bottom of the bar where it clamps to the top of the bar at the grips.

7/8 is standard thickness for almost all MX and BMX bars. The one exeption I know of is Renthall and those are like 1 1/16 inch thickness. 1 inch bars are rare and stuff like grips tc are $$$
You find 1 inch bars on Harleys and many Metric Cruisers like the Yamaha V Star.

Fast 50's and other bars like that are a waste of money for $49

I bought a brand new GT BMX Chrome Bar off Ebay for $12. It has a 8 inch rise. It is the ****.

Check ebay for BMX bars...they are cheap....

Check these out, they are awesome for the $$$$$$

Totally. Since we have already established the fact that all bars are pretty much the same, I wonder why these aftermarket companies don't get the hint. All you really have to do is knock some little kid off his BMX bike, steal the bars and clamp (drill four HOLES and it's set), and you're good
