oil leak

I have a oil leak coming from the botom of my 50. It's a slow leak that I can't figure out. It seems as though it's coming from the drain plug but it is tight. I'd say if anything though it's coming from more of the left side if your sitting on the bike. Any help?

Have you ever bent your shifter? I discovered my shifter shaft oil seal is letting oil leak by. Shifter end takes a hit and trasfers the shock to the shifter shaft and that messes up the seal. $4 part from what I am told, but I am going to wait to get a spring loaded shifter so it doesn't happen again.

Hmmmm, I don't know if my shifter has ever been bent. But I have a manual clutch kit to install so when I change everything out I'll have to check that seal. Thanks buddy, anything else?

That is the only place my 50 leaks oil from. Clean off all around it, ride it, park it and see if you can see where it is coming from. My bet would be the shifter seal though.

hey niner, im willing to make a bet on that seal problem. your shifter shaft is bent guaranteed. they bend almost as easy as the shifter itself. u will know when u go to take it apart for your 4 speed and stroker. that shaft will give u hell sliding it out. just be easy and use a brass drift or something soft. make sure u replace the shaft (if bent) with one from a 50 cause me and BLOWNSVT made the same mistake and used the 70 one then found out we had to make custom shifters. beatrice cycle sells them cheap. pimp *** avatar by the way.

Thanks for the tip! My avitar will be changed once I get my new street tires put on and my 50 back together. I moved the bar in so I am scraping at 12 instead of the 11-11:30 in my avitar.
