Thanks for the info I will keep you all posted, most of my mods will happen over the winter, I will tune in stages, my Red Barron blk anodized clamp, and Tag mini bar kit will arrive on tue 16th, my Fast 50 fat foam and gripper cover as well as our grips on the 18th ( I have only had the 50 for 3 weeks). I will follow with a Five O front suspension kit ( ext. cromoly fork legs, sliders, and HD springs) $219 , then an I shock for the rear, should I spring for the remote res? I will stunt it mostly, but want it to be well balanced, and ready for almost anything that I can throw at it.( yes even jumps) Next paint the frame and swing arm. almost forgot red barron shifter,Joker brake ext., classic Hondaminitrail skidplate. Kitaco big bore kit , but which one ?I want to get the better engine parts, so that I dont have to replace parts when I go to the next stage tune. BTW I am a 33 year old 5'6 male 175lbs, my 9 year old daughter also rides my 50, so I want it to be reliable, and fairly trouble Free. I want just what you described lots of torque, quite, higher reving. Is it ok to add one of those $60 rev cdi to a stock 50 ? dose it help? sorry to go on and on but I have a lot of questions. BTW your 50 track looks like it will be KICK A$$ thanks latter :head

Talking blownsvt , I await your tuning knowledge

more tuning tips please, about to start the 3rd week with my fidy, I want to start learning how to maintain, and tune my bike. Yes this is the first dirt bike that I have ever owned. Read on 50cc racing.com that all stock 50 can stand to have the stock jet moved up? Is this true? how do I do it? Once my 50 Is a month old do I have to get the 1st service at the dealer so that the can inspect the valves? Do I need to lube the chain? basically I am asking you what do I need to do maintaince wise to keep my fidy running in top form? Thanks in advance.

FREE, Looks like your not wasting any time modding your fiddy. I don`t think the rev cdi does much for a stock fiddy. Its a nice ad on to the light bore kit, But its not necessary. If you got the cake go ahead and get it. If your going to be mainly stunting your bike I can`t see ever needing more power than the kitaco light bore kit.
I wouldn`t bring it to the dealer to do the valves, anyone can do it themselves with the right tools. Just leave the jetting and the valves alone until you get the big bore kit. You can get it here http://www.kingracingusa.com/kr_reta...e45ca2814c570f or http://www.hondaminitrail.com/XR50.html blownsvt recommends next day air and late night installs for these parts

These bikes don`t need much maintance once the valves are set the will stay within tolerance for a very long time. You can lube the chain. I don`t do it all that often just so my bike stays cleaner. I change the oil in my bike alot. These bike have no oil filter.

thanks Blownsvt, today niner, and T&A came over to my place to install my bar kit, but the UPS guy didnt leave the package, even though I left him a note with my signature on it. so I took the opportunity to go and order a #60 jet and a Uni pod filter, what do you think of these as first engine mods? Goodnight BTW we took all 3 fiddys out on a long adventure, through my fiddy funland, what a riot!!! more on that tomorrow

BLOWN SVT GOT A ??? FER YA

IF I GET THE LIGHT BORE KIT

do I have to do the carb also?

I have a Z50 replica

do you think I could get good performance with changing jet and needle position? with stock 12mm carb?

I want the 88cc kit but would love to save the extra 180 on the carb kit also

hello, , when you put on a big bore kit, do you also need to change the oil pump and clutch springs?? will a 75cc kitaco bore keep up with a 88cc kit?? I'mm not sure what kit to get. The price differece is 100 bucks btwn them. Will a 18mm keihin carb and cam also help?? I plan on running the stock exhaust to keep it quiet. thanks for all your help...

well a 75 kit will be faster than

the stock but the 88 is most likely gunna be faster than the 75 kit

yes the carb and cam will help

the cam will help more than the carb, you can get away with running a bigger jet in the stock carb and moving the needle around to find the best setting. for stuntin you want to have more torque, but if you have enough torque then you can even it out and get more mid and top and still have a good range of torque!!!

i myself am thinking of going with the kit from www.sik50s.com
for $269.99 includes hi performance cam, and for $180 more if you're interested you can add the 20mm carb and throttle cable.

hope this helps

peace

on a 88 light bore kit you don't need a carb just use the stock set up maybe change the jet to a 60 or 62
but make sure you read all 3 pages of this post and you will see why

I don`t have any experiance with the 75cc kit. I would think that 75 would be faster with a cam, carb than an 88 with no cam,no carb. The cam making most of the difference. Hondaminitrail.com sell the 88cc bore kit with no cam,no carb for $255. King racing sells the 88cc kit with the cam and no carb for $270<---- best deal

The stock oil pump will be fine until the cylinder head is upgraded. Don`t worry about the clutch. If it burns out then fix it.
