hmmmm, I think it can be done...b/c you are using a 14mm wrench to hold the locknut and you are turning the eyelet in the opposite direction you might be able to do it...it is a lot easier in a vice though...go down to your nearest gym and find a musclehead to help you out....
also heating the shock will help loosen the locktight....good luck

couldnt get ahold of a vice, so i just took the bolt out of the top of the shock and left the bottom in and had the bike hold the shock for me. the new spring feels nice.
