Gearing

Would it be possible to gear a 50 with a 16/30 ratio? Would it get off the line (im not planning on racing) or would i have to put it in first and start pusshing it and hop on to get it moving? Thx

I think with a 30 rear sprocket, it will be like starting off in 2nd, but if you put one bad *** fiddy motor (124cc) in there it will scream!

with a stock motor on a 50, a 30 will be to steep, it won't have enough power to really get it up to speed, I have one 50 thats bone stock and has a #35 rear sprocket (2 down from stock) thats just marginally faster than normal. A #36 may be a good choice for some higher top speed with a stock motor

Mainly the use of the smaller sprockets or larger counter sprockets is for the big bore kit motors that have the power and can use it to thier advantage....
