ct 70 tranny questions
I ran into a ct70 lower end for 30 bucks. correct me if im wrong but i can keep my hd clutch and not use the manual right? and what part of the shift shaft do i cut? I've read all the posts about this and think i got a pretty good idea on it. but I would like someone to confirm. I blew my connecting rod so i bought a stroker. my motor is all ripped apart and figured id put this in while im here. will the 108 chew up the gears? I ride alot of trails pretty hard.:YEAH And can I keep neutral down and 4 up?
Re: ct 70 tranny questions
The stock shift shaft is longer for the auto clutch, you know the little arm connect to it and runs to the middle of the clutch....When you convert to manual clutch you need to cut that off so the engine cover will fit....Some kits already come with a gear selector shaft without that part so you dont ahve to cut it..But most of those newer shafts have to use a differnet shifter so instead of changing the shifter people cut the stock shaft...
I can post pics of the differnce between the shafts and where you have to cut them, tommorrow if you need them?
