So do you just grind down 1/8th of a inch from the surface that touches the lower pad?

Cheers!

I read all of page 1 but did not read the other pages so forgive me if this was already answered...

I can already lock up the rear wheel so from a stunt perspective... is this mod really worth it?

6 years late.

But this is a VERY well know phenomenon. (though smartly implemented here, well done)

drum brakes have a "self energizing/actervating effect", it's why this mod works.

Re: Fix your brakes for free, Brake modification

Since the thread was revived...

One of this season's mods was a special set of front brake pads and the 50Stunt long front brake arm. Even with stock pads, testing has shown the longer brake arm to make a huge difference for me.

You can imagine my surprise when I went into a stoppie during race practice. I am glad it was only practice but it's a biotch when the rear wheel comes off the ground when you do not expect it to.

Lotta responses --- me thinkie da thread be a dying?

Slapped a disk brake on the front. Gonna mod the rear before the next race.

Now have to up the front springs again as the front end dives too much under heavy late braking.
