front springs ? Kunk noise when they unload?
front springs ? Kunk noise when they unload?
I installed some longer springs on my sons bike, and they were making a kunk noise when they on rebound or unloading. The guy at the parts place said to fix the problem I needed to go with extended fork legs.Well I installed those only to have the same problem.Im sure I ve installed it the way they are supposed to be ,but I cant figure out why they are still making the kunk noise. Anyone have this problem?

Re: front springs ? Kunk noise when they unload?
do you mean when they max out? because i put longer springs in and the bushings were to small so when i maxed them out the fork tube was coming down and hitting the fork guard mounts. i just threw some bigger rubber bushings in and it was fine.

you just need to pack the forks w/ grease reall good, mine "kunk" after i hit too many jumps or drops and push most of the grease back out of them.
just pull them most of the way down, grab a handfull of grease and mush it in the springs and all around teh bushings, then put back together and ride

Was I supposed to use the bushing out of the stock springs? I guess thats my problem then .I asked the guy at the parts place and he said I didnt need them with the extended fork legs and longer springs.
