jetting
aight bought the light version of 88cc big bore kit and put it in got the 62 main in the stock carb and it seems to sputter when it is at 3/4 to full throttle. i pulled the plug and its pretty black so i moved the needle clip all the way up and it still sputters at full throttle, and the plug is still black. so i dont know what to do. i dont think that they make a 60 main, so how the hell am i sapposed to adjust it so it runs right.
also anyone got a carb off a big bore kit that they wanna sell cheap? cuz if i cant figure this out i might just end up having to spend the money on a bigger carb.

theres only two screws and ones the idle and the other is the air/fuel, and the air fuel is set right i have great throttle response from idle to bout 3/4 then it starts chopping up almost as if its getting to much gas. i think my air fuel screw is set at 2 full turns out maybe 2 and 1/2.
Re: jetting
if the plug is black its to rich
are you running a stock airbox?
ive also seen a loose jet do the same thing ,you might size the jet to make sure it is actually what it says it is
check your ground wire too, make sure its got a good contact and is tight
a plethera of things could be wrong
fab i dont think if the timing is off that it would get to 3/4 throttle
it would start missing right off idle, but cant hurt to double check it

Re: jetting
aight checked the timing again and know that the timing is right. the t on the flywheel is lined up, and the o on the cam sprocket is lined up with the notch. ground wire is secured. i have the stock airbox box on it but i removed the 2 baffles that were in it. ill check tommorow to make sure the jet is in there tight, pretty sure it is but ill check again. also fab you know if they put the same cam in all the z50's from 82 to at least 91. because i have tons of torque down low but it falls on its face once in the higher rpms. im comparing it to my buddys 91 z and his pulls strong as hell high in the rpms. wondering if honda maybe switched cams in one of the years between.

Re: jetting
ohh shitt............. the bikes an 82, but if it was the piston why will it still start up easy, and run fine, until into the high rpms. it doesnt tick or clang while running like if the valves were hitting the piston or somthin like that.
