[QUOTE=Getsome] Think I'm gonna throw new leathers, helmet and mototote or trailer on the loan so I don't have to worry about fronting all the cash for those right up front.QUOTE]

all this on the same loan as the bike?is this an aouto loan?or other?

well with the suzuki promotion for example.its 9.9% at a fixed rate and the minimum payment is 99 for the whole 5 yrs.meaning at anytime durring that period you can pay 99.it wont balloon up in a year or two.BUT do the math.after 5yrs thats only 6000 dollars youve paid for an 8,9,or 10 thousand dollar bike.so there is a lump sum that is owed.and it is up to you how you pay it off durring that time.meaning you can pay 99$ for 59 months and in that last month pay the remainder of the balance for example.that is why there always the with approved credit attached to the end of most adds.because there only gona let people with the best credit history get that promotion with the notion that based on their previous history they will pay it all off.in terms of score wise.you prolly need around a 700 (credit score) or higher to get approved for a promotion like that.if not youll get stuck with a fixed monthly payment at a higher intrest ratelike around 20 or so.

but i remeber yamaha had a promotion like it only for 2 yrs though.now with that the payment balloons after the 1st 2 yrs.so with that if you pay it off before then youll benefit.

but as alwasy i could be wrong in my understanding.

im glad somebody started this topic... i just got insurance quote in hawaii, for almost 4000$ a year full coverage (for a 929).... Now i guess that would be if i got an auto loan... but what if i got a personal loan... would i still have to have full coverage? and are personal loans higher interest?

no if you get a personal loan.you are not required to carry anything from the bank as they dont even know youll have bought the bike with the money.with personal laons they really dont care.you can tell them your buying a 8000 dollar toaster and youll get approved.but you will have to carry the minimum your state requires witch is most likeley just liability.and yes the intrest rate is higher than that of a auto loan unless it is a secured personal loan (when they use somthing liekyour car or house as collateral).for me they said the unsecured rate would be 16 and the secured rate would be around 5 so you can get an example.but tis varried state to state.

I owe a **** load on my bike... But at least it looks like a paid off salvaged bike! lol I was stupid and financed in my tag, helmet, and I took the 3 months no payment plan.. So, 1 year later and I owe $400 less than the bike cost! 'Doh

P.S. my interest is 5.9% I am 23 with decent credit.

yes women do like powerful toys but I already have the waverunner. I want the boat too but want another truck before I get it. Got friends who have boats so I am on the lake 3-4 times a week anyway be it on my stuff or with friends or both. Hell, might not keep the wife around much longer anyway; she's getting on my nerves..

king

Yeah I am just going to get a preapproved loan from my bank and have check in hand when i buy the bike. Am going to work in the new gear and mototote and just write one check for it all. All the bank is concerned with is getting the title after the sale till it's paid off. They give me an approval amount and I work out a deal to get what I want. Still wonder why so many people pay sticker for bikes, a deal can always be made; especially if they want return business.

Now I gotta see what kind of hell it's gonna take to get ahold of one of those Repsol CBR1000RR's....

dude it's called walking in with check in hand. i know a guy who already has a down payment on one of those nice new gsxr1000's and you think he's paying sticker for it? NO!!!!! but he walked in with check in hand(down payment now, the rest when the bike is delivered). But of course you have to realize when you deal with the same dealer time and time again; get all your parts there; buy all your bikes there; they know that if they give you a deal and take a loss to keep the business coming.

I know the people at my Honda dealer and they will get my business repeatedly if I get my bike for what I want to pay for it. And they know that. If you walk in with the ability to pay sticker but give them the ultimatum of "I will pay this much for the bike and these accessories". They sit and think for a few minutes, then when you start for the door you all of a sudden have a deal.

Dealers don't make the majority of their money off the sale of the bike; they make it off the extras you put on it; the helmets, the leathers, the tune ups, the tires, the performance parts, the custom effects, and the repairs once the warranty wears out. Note to all, if they offer an extended warranty: GET IT!!!!!!!!

I was actually referring to the limite number of Repsol CBR1000RR's that will be available and seeing if I will be able to get one before they are all taken. Want my new bike to be something that no one else has within a long range of my home.
