im glad somebody started this topic... i just got insurance quote in hawaii, for almost 4000$ a year full coverage (for a 929).... Now i guess that would be if i got an auto loan... but what if i got a personal loan... would i still have to have full coverage? and are personal loans higher interest?

I owe a **** load on my bike... But at least it looks like a paid off salvaged bike! lol I was stupid and financed in my tag, helmet, and I took the 3 months no payment plan.. So, 1 year later and I owe $400 less than the bike cost! 'Doh

correct.. that is what i did

yes women do like powerful toys but I already have the waverunner. I want the boat too but want another truck before I get it. Got friends who have boats so I am on the lake 3-4 times a week anyway be it on my stuff or with friends or both. Hell, might not keep the wife around much longer anyway; she's getting on my nerves..

Yeah I am just going to get a preapproved loan from my bank and have check in hand when i buy the bike. Am going to work in the new gear and mototote and just write one check for it all. All the bank is concerned with is getting the title after the sale till it's paid off. They give me an approval amount and I work out a deal to get what I want. Still wonder why so many people pay sticker for bikes, a deal can always be made; especially if they want return business.
Now I gotta see what kind of hell it's gonna take to get ahold of one of those Repsol CBR1000RR's....

dude it's called walking in with check in hand. i know a guy who already has a down payment on one of those nice new gsxr1000's and you think he's paying sticker for it? NO!!!!! but he walked in with check in hand(down payment now, the rest when the bike is delivered). But of course you have to realize when you deal with the same dealer time and time again; get all your parts there; buy all your bikes there; they know that if they give you a deal and take a loss to keep the business coming.
I know the people at my Honda dealer and they will get my business repeatedly if I get my bike for what I want to pay for it. And they know that. If you walk in with the ability to pay sticker but give them the ultimatum of "I will pay this much for the bike and these accessories". They sit and think for a few minutes, then when you start for the door you all of a sudden have a deal.
Dealers don't make the majority of their money off the sale of the bike; they make it off the extras you put on it; the helmets, the leathers, the tune ups, the tires, the performance parts, the custom effects, and the repairs once the warranty wears out. Note to all, if they offer an extended warranty: GET IT!!!!!!!!
I was actually referring to the limite number of Repsol CBR1000RR's that will be available and seeing if I will be able to get one before they are all taken. Want my new bike to be something that no one else has within a long range of my home.
