Is it better to leave your wounds uncoverd and creamed up with (bacatin) antibiotic cream?

Better to have them bandaged at all times.

i used the creme and left it uncovered. but before i went to bed i covered it up, roadrash is supersensitive .

 

Us Cream And Keep Badages Damp Or They Will Stick To Road Rash. Then You Have To Pull Them Out Of The Scabs, And Start Over Again(not Good). Chage Badages Twice A Day And Use Damp Gaugs The Hospital Has Them. You Can Buy Them, Just About Anywhere.

 

I left mine uncovered. My bro covered his. I healed much faster, albeit with more fun experiences peeling my comfortor off my body...

 

You need to keep the wound covered at all times (except when in the shower). Avoid swimming or any other water sports until it’s healed. Put an antibiotic ointment on it. Make sure you put allot on. If you find that the ointment is seeping through that bandage then apply another bandage over top to avoid ruining clothes. The antibiotic ointment doesn't come out of clothes. Also you should see your physician as well. Just to make sure you didn't do more damage then just road rash to yourself and just in case you have a lot of debris, this could cause an infection.
One more thing if you chose to leave it uncovered with nothing on it, you’re at a greater risk of infection and you'll have a much nastier scar.

 

I have found that it heals much faster when you leave it uncovered, but scars usually look worse. Just my experiance over a number of years of wipe outs

 

HAHAHA... she said water sports... so don't let your old lady **** on you while they are healing... but seriously.... keep 'em covered for work and when you sleep but try to let the air get to the rash while you are just sittin' around the house... if you keep it covered and soft you will have less scarring.... good luck.... rash sux....

True that. My worst spot was on my right shin, it's still a big purplish scar after a year and a half. I like it though, and don't want it to fade. It's a reminder to me that being stupid can hurt. To help prevent infection, I just poured rubbing alcohol on it ever 2 days or so. Worked wonders, fealt lovely.

I left mine un covered, I did go to the doc and got some cream. I also went swiming about 4 days later and it seemed to help.

 

I kept mine covered for a week. Keep it covered with antibiotics and use the non-stick pads. I started with regular gauze and it stuck like crazy. If you did use gauze, soak it with water before trying to peel it off. It comes off much easier and less painfully if it's wet. Change it every day and after a week or so, it's ok to leave it uncovered. Just don't pick the damn scabs off or the scarring will be worse...
