my budddy is willing to sell me his 02 zx6r it has 6800 miles on it $4600, its in good shape...but there this slight hesitation when you rev it at like 3-4k...i assume the carbs need cleaning and some new plugs...he doesent have the manual...when do i need to adjust the valves?

thats a great deal man. jump on it, and try cleaning out the carbs, check the air and fuel filters out, and make sure the plugs and wires are all good. its a cool bike especially for that price.

My 600 does the same thing. I have a full hindle system. The bike needs to have the carburators adjusted for the new exhaust flow. That means jetting, or having the needles shimmed up. Expect to pay anywhere from $50 - $250 to fix that...

Thats price seems fair...not really a special deal, but fair for the buyer and seller.

Yeah slip's will still make the bike run a little lean/rich but not as much as the full system. When I just had a slip-on on my old gixxer it really wasn't very noticeable(the dead spot in the rpm's) but when i got a full system it was running likegarbage till I got the jet kit put in.

i had the 2000 zx6r, very nice bike unless your gonna stunt it, frammes are weak, i went through 2 frames and countless weld and re welds b4 i got my 900rr. if you not going to stunt it hard core it will be fine though. valves need to be adjusted/clearences checked at 7500, 15000, and 24000 miles. that is a pretty good price too. right around blue book.
