I just bought my F3. The guy said that the tach wasn't connected and that he was told all it needed was to be connected, he pointed to some wires hanging and said they just needed to be pluged in. Well i didn't look at it very close till today. The wires that were hanging were inside the farings and could be seen when sitting on the bike below the guages, but they were for the right side blinker LOL. So now i'm not sure what the deal is with the tach. Is it possible that it isn't connected? Do I need to get a new tach? I don't have an owners manual or a shop manual yet so I'm not sure how to get the gauge cluster apart.

The tach on my old gixxer didn't work either, I ended up getting a new one off ebay for $60 and it worked like a charm. Think the same deal happened here?

i have the wiring diagrams in pdf... if you think you can decipher all that jargon than ill send it to ya... i actually have the whole service manual in pdf in sections i cant really find anything about the tech but ill keep looking

mine works sometimes, and then it goes off for a bit, so i dont cant help you, but i never tried to figure out what it is either.

 

I am having that same problem with the spedo and tach. Its driving me to drink
