Fuel injection VS Carb

Which do you think is better. Im saying EFI and Tenny is saying Carb'd. That being said, which do you think is better?

Edit: Tenny says its Carbs VS injection on the basis of smoothness now. Im still saying injection is smoother.

Re: Fuel injection VS Carb

this whole discussion comes from talking about stunting not which is better or not. He is saying that fuel injection is smoother. I'm telling himthat fuel injection is much jerkier than carbs. the main advantage to injection is 12ing because it doesn't kill the engine due to floods. this isn't a topic of whats better in your opoinoin. its a proven fact that injection is jerkier than carbs. I think that carbs are better to stunt with for the slow stuff because of the less jerkness of them. He says injection is smoother. I'm calling him out on the fact that i have ridden both, stunted both, and know the difference.

What runs smoother:

Carbs (thats what i think)

Injection (much jerkier) (not that they cannot be stunted just a little harder to do the slow stuff and takes more throttle/brake control)

Re: Fuel injection VS Carb

This whole thread comes from the fact that he does not stunt/ride a bike/or know anyhting. he tells me he saw the data stream of a honda so he knows that injected is smother and less jerkey than carbs. he doesn't understand that a piece of paper is different than going out and rididng it.

damn tenny got all bent outta shape about this. Personal attacks and **** over a difference of opinions. No i dont have a bike currently and no i dont stunt, but form my experience i know that fuel injection is smoother than carbs. I dont see what the big *** deal is.

Re: Fuel injection VS Carb

injection isn't as smooth because its more responsive. any slight movement and u have a reaction vs carbs are very forgiving and aren't as percise

Re: Fuel injection VS Carb

ya, like he said, it's more responsive therefore smaller adjustments do more, so it seems jerkier. honda injection is pretty damned smooth but they are way more responsive than carbs there fore it's going to be jerkier unless you are used to FI. suzuki on the other hand....i hate their FI. well, under 3500 at least it sucks. mapped more for a track than street.

and i think FI is all around better, you dump your bike, it fires right back up, don't worry about bog, overflow, or flooding. my 929 fires first push every time no matter how cold. so far down to 10 degrees it fires right up.

Re: Fuel injection VS Carb

ive ridden both...any one that says fuel injected bikes are "smoother" than carbed is an out and out idiot..carbs are much more forgiving and smooth with inputs where a fuel injected bike would feely jerky and not very smooth, for performance i say fuel injected, for smoothness i say carb'd...a lot of people will tell you to get your **** on lock with a carbed bike then move up to a fuel injected.

I second that, FI is way smoother. Unless you can tune the living chit out of your carbs.

no dude when something is twitchy (FI) its not smooth,FI may run on really high wheelies and on the 12 bar and not flood out but that doesnt make fuel injection smooth...fuel injected bikes have sensitive throttles so each imput makes it seem real twitchy...i agree fuel injected bikes make the better stuntbikes but for a beginner thats learning throttle control a carb'd bike is the best way to go

For price, yes. I agree with you hands down. Yea FI is twitchy but its though out the whole twisting of the throttle from on to off. Carbed bikes seem to bogg down at a cetian rpm. Then you have to give it more throttle to get out of the boggy patch. I dunno to each his own, but a beginner should get the cheapest chit possible. Which is probably a carbed bike. Racing on the other hand, carbs are just as good. My
