I'm getting ready to gear my 98 F3, but just curious as to the speedo. A buddy of mine told me that when you gear your bike, in order to keep the same accurate speedo, you'd have to recalibrate your speedo. The same bike I stunt is the same bike I ride to work, so when I'm going by a police ( ) I still need my accurate speed.

So, my question, will gearing my bike make my speedo read 150 when I'm doing 90?

 

all depends on the gearing ratio but yes it will throw it off

 

Not on my bike........speedo is a cable going to the front tire, so it's all good on mine. One of the good thing about older bikes I guess

 

Same Her just got my gears done and i asked the tech about that. He said there is no way to fix it. I got a 2001 gixxer 750.
