bike is back firing in the morning. and i hear a clickin sound when i first start my bike. only clicks from 1000-4000 rpms. just started happening a couple days ago. wtf? im in so cali and its not cold in the morning. at least 75 when i wake up. thanks for the help
When did it start backfiring? Have you done any mods recently? Pipe? Airfilter? How bad does it backfire? Is it down on power any? If its a constant ticking noise coming from the upper end of the engine, its probably valves, gixxers tick alot. If you have been 10-15K miles and not had a valve adjustment, its probably time to get that done. If the noise is kinda like a rattling sound coming from the right side of the motor, then its probably your cct like hayez said. If that is the case, your cam chain could be loose and could have jumped time a little bit which would cause backfiring, but most likely cause other bad **** to happen like bent valves, major power loss, etc.
I wanna say its probably your vavles, go get em checked or get a manual and a good set of feeler gauges and do it yourself. Its not that hard to do.

i think its my valves. i feel less power lately. im gettin up to 10000 i just bought it 2 month ago & it had 8000 on it. i havent done any mods to it yet. just dented the tank. it back fire probly once or twice & then i turn up the high idle & its starts after i give it a lil gas. just started doin it last week. thanks for ur help
also when im in first gettin up to around 7000 it starts to make kinda of grindin noise.

Get a manual and have at it bro. Motors are insanely easy to work on. Just label every thing and take pictures with a digicam when you are taking things apart. Labeling is a MUST for doing headwork. I learned that the hard way. My first experience with headwork was rebuilding a theft recovery motor that got dumped in a river. I pulled off the head and didnt label anything. It took forever dicking with putting the cams in and out trying to figure out which shims went to each vavle.
Anyways, a manual will teach you everything you need to know. The hard part is coughin up all the dough for tools.

had the same noise, loose bolt on my slider and it only did it between 1500 and 4500, check it.
If not then u need to look into the valves or maybe slack in the timing chain... if its the chain get an aftermarket adjuster
