any benefit to kevlar clutch plates
Re: any benefit to kevlar clutch plates
mine is still pulling pretty strong, its just the ever so slight slip. i intend to attack the problem before it ***** the bed in the middle of timbuckfuckntoo. clutch is an easy fix.
Re: any benefit to kevlar clutch plates
if it's not That....you might get away with just disassebling...and scuffing your metals with some 50 grit and some 150 grit sandpaper ... and your **** mighyt still be good for years ...(Sometimes they can get glazed and just need serviced)
I personally like OEM... I love Honda **** ...period ...

here is a little of my thinking why ... mostly from things I have heard from wiser engine builders/racers etc. (although I have tried a kevlar clutch before ...years ago...It had more engagement bite )
while kevlar might give better Byte.... THAt would be more for drag racing or high horspower applications..imo ... for stuntiing or street riding oem is plenty sufficient and maybe even better (as oem gives a nice predictable feel ) I think kevlar might feel a little more On or off (like less slippage during engagement)
and lastly ...i think kevlar is a very strong material...and Since clutch material DOES wear away ...and it goes into your Oil (cause we have wet clutches) well...imo...while it is in your oil (the kevlar debris that has worn off the clutchpads) it is in your engine being smeared around all you main bearings and camshaft bearings and rod bearings etc... and it is probably wearing THOSE parts faster Than OEM material would wear them). hence shortening the life of your engine a little more.... (not that Stuntbike engines outlast the bike or anything ...)
but this is some of my reasons that I wouldnt use kevlar in a clutch for a stuntbike
just my
