POS F4i RANT
POS F4i RANT
So I replaced the clutch on my f4i today and after I got the cover back on and threw on a new oil filter when I was putting the oil pan plug back in the stupid piece of **** broke off in the motha fuka. I'm sooo irritated right now I wish I could find a baby to shake. I work graveyards so I don't have time to pull off the oil pan till tomorrow and hopefully I can get the rest of it out.Ever happen to anyone else... Any advice?
Re: POS F4i RANT
Are you 'stupid'? If not, then quit typing like a ******* retard.
Also, if you can't figure out the proper torque of an oil plug bolt, don't ever ******* touch a bike again
Btw just one more ******* comment
How many miles on your f4i? Less then 25k? Why are you replacing the clutch? Can you not ride?
34k on my f4i stock clutch!
edit: If you BROKE THE OIL PAN BOLT, then you WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY overtorqued it. I never even heard of that. I've heard of people over tightening it and stripping the threads, but snapping a steel bolt in an aluminum oil pan? Was 40 foot pounds past the proper torque not enough for you?
This has absolutely nothing to do with an f4i being a "pos", it has everything to do with you being a pos mechanic.

Haaaa just because you like to change your oil once a year and torque your bolts by feel doesn't mean everyone likes to share your shady mechanic practices. Any bolt torqued more then a couple of times will need to be replaced sooner or later especially when you consider the construction of that particular bolt. So have fun "drunk-posting" you seem to be having a blast with it...

oh and you said you were putting the drainplug back in when it broke of correct? so why did you even post this, put oil in the damn thing and go ride it, buy another oil pan which i happen to have i will sell it to you for super cheap since i feel sorry for you. just paypal me $375.49 that will cover the cost of the oil pan and i will call my boy who lives in Denver and arrange for him to come over and put it on for you!!!!

Like I said jack ***, 34k miles on my f4i. Stock oil pan, stock oil pan bolt. Never even replaced the crush washer like I should, and NEVER used a torque wrench on a oil pan bolt.
And guess what, since I owned my bike at 12k miles, I have NEVER went past 2k without a oil change.
In fact, in the last 10k, I've changed the oil within 1k miles EVERY TIME.
Like I said, I can understand a new person to working on bikes/motors in general, over tightening a bolt and stripping a thread, I've replaced multiple oil pans for people that do it.
But I've NEVER heard of someone snapping the bolt!
And even after a half fifth of vodka, I can still change oil without snapping a steel bolt in aluminum. You would have to be retarded to snap steel in aluminum sober

Re: POS F4i RANT
The correct way to reinstall a drain bolt is changing the crush washer after every oil change.. you feel the washer crush and go a bit tighter then that done.. Mind you i Never changed the washer once on my own bikes and have never had a problem.
I can tell you for 100% fact ITS NOT THE BIKES FAULT !

my boy stripped the f*ck out of his R6 oil plug. it was all the way in and just spun, lol. he wound up getting a nut and welding it over the hole, then useing a new bolt to thread into the nut. he's a cool guy, just a f*cking retard....
