SI cage question

Curious if anyone knows, if SI ever made any changes to their cages for F4i's..
Specifically, making the tube size a little bigger

I remember a thread about 2-3 months ago, where me and a few other people complained about the tight clearances with sockets and the cage, and someone from SI said they would immidetiely make changes and make the tubes a little bigger..

Gonna be in the market for a new cage soon, and I would like to get a SI, but not going through the headache of that small tubing again..

I tried emailing a couple times and never got a response

Re: SI cage question

Yeah but Snap-on warranty ******* kicks ****. You can change them even if the chrome finish starts to dull.

i dunno how well covered you are with other brands.

However snap-on tools are the f4i of the tool world.

Re: SI cage question

snap-on is ******* expensive

and there is no dealer within 45 minutes of here, so I break a tool, Im STUCK!

I run craftsman.. I know, people call it junk.. But why? FREE REPLACEMENT..

When I removed the axles from my car last time, I snapped my 1/2" driver, and my dads 1/2" driver.. took em both back got 2 new ones..
Went home snapped the 2 new ones, went back out got 2 more..
Came home, snapped 1 again, and finally got my axle off.. went and replaced the 1..

Not to mention sears is about 1 mile from my house, just right up the street lol

The Si cage isn't tooo bad, untill you wreck about 500 times, and flip your bike twice, and your cage looks like a pretzel, then the sockets wont ever come out..

The cross bar on my friends SI cage is soo fucked, the socket is stuck in there for good.. Not a big deal, but it would be nice to take it out every once in a while!

Hell my EBAY **** hole cage (possibly a oldre model stuntaid) is IMO designed more 'intelligently" then the SI cage.. Not as strong no.. But they actually put HUGE tube, big open holes, its not hard to get a socket in there...

It doesn't take a scientist to see that designing someonthing so your sockets rub, is gonna be a bitch to remove once its tweaked..

Re: SI cage question

Um.... so get the cage, just buy new tools?

Imma switch to SI prolly too J.... But only after my FI lets me down first...

I'm scared of the circle pancakes that are comin man...
but I check my bolts for tight, RE-stinkin-ligously!!! & with Craftsman...lol...which is my point exactly... Who wants to need a special sized socket when you should be checkin ur stuff often anyways?

Re: SI cage question

I bought a set of these, and I love em. They work great for the cage bots and you dont have to worry about a socket getting stuck
