the f3 has a highspeed air valve on the carbs. without the gauges it will run like junk.

on the main wiring harness where it plugs into the gauges, there is a wire on teh bike side of the plug that is pink. you have to take that wire and ground it. once you do that, bike will run fine.

for everyone else that doesnt' know bikes, stop answerign questions with BS.

and anyone with an F3 that attempts this mod and has problems, send me a PM and i'll help ya out further. it's pretty self explanatory though, find pink wire in plug where gauges used to go, run wire to ground somewhere on bike, bike runs.

does anyone else know about this?

probably not because there are few TRUE mechanics on here...mostly just parts swappers here and band aid fixers.

PM sent to you with info.

Re: f3 gauges unplugged and doesnt run right?

I am having similar problem on my 99 f4 goes ike this.
Ok, I have a "Gangster" swith for my tail lights on my bike. Installed it 6months ago. It is spliced in at the power supply out at fuse box. That same line Also controls my dash I.e lights and gauges. saturday my speedo stopped working. temp an tach work fine. now the bike pops an hesitates an even stalls when I get higher than 4,000 rpm........BUT when I cut the power off to dash AND tail lights it runs perfectly normal????This made for an intresting ride home from Daytona Beach. 280 miles. Any one ever have this issue an how did you fix it?

you made the ultimate mistake. you made your wiring harness ghetto.

don't **** with your wiring harness. throw it away, buy a new one and leave the **** alone unless you're an electrician. You've obviously screwed something up by starving power with the ghetto tail light. You're going to hurt yourself when your bike decides to catch on fire or short out when you are in the middle of a wheelie.

LEAVE THE WIRING HARNESS STOCK!!! jesus
