i have an 2001 r6 and it pops after i close the throthe. when its been running at high rpm's. the bike has a jadine can and a spark advancer. other than the pops the bike runs great! i know this thread is close to another thread on here. but no one ever really said if it hurt the bike or not ! thanks sean

 

It depends on how bad its doing it and where the pop is coming from.

If it is infact a intake leak or a lean pilot circuit causing it, it is detremental to the motor. Not critically but it isn't GOOD for it.

If it's an exhaust leak you shouldn't see any engine damage because the detenation is taking place in the exhast tubes and not affecting internal combustion temperatures.

I recommend having a trained pro. look at and go from there because IT IS NOT NORMAL.
