zzr600 or 636?
zzr600 or 636?
well, i finally sold my 250 ninja yesterday and now im ready to start looking at 600's. i dont really like the r6's or gixxers too much. and the cbr is kinda uncomfortable so im mainly looking at zzr600's and the 636 ninja. i LOVE the new design on the new zzr but i know the 636 is faster. well my question is, what would all of you do in my situation? go for the bike thats a little bit cheaper and looks pretty sick or the 636? also, exactly how much faster is the 636....does anyone know 0-60 for either bike and the top speed?
Re: zzr600 or 636?
636 is a very physically demanding bike. 05/06 ZZR600 is a repainted 00-02 ZX-6R.
Here's the pro's and con's of each in my opinion
636 Pro's
Fuel Injection
Quick
Agile
Increadible brakes
Slipper clutch
Increadible handling
Con's
Aggressive riding position
FRAGILE bike (Breaks rearsets, levers, A LOT OF THINGS when you drop it, don't buy this bike if you think you might drop it accidentally)
Expensive insurance
Not as good of gas mileage
ZZR600 Pro's
Very comfortable
Quick (It's still on par with 01-03 GSXRS F4i's and R6's)
Cheap *** insurance cuz it's classified as sport touring
Handles great very user friendly
Good beginner 600 all around great bike
Won't break as much if you drop it
More parts available
Con's
Carbuerated
Lackluster front end and brakes
Heavier by today's standards (but more durable)
So you have decide what's more desireable, remember the 636 costs 1600 more MSRP, and will break a lot more if you drop it.
The 636 is a better bike, I own it, but it's my 5th sportbike, so I wasn't worried about dropping it. It's a great bike but not very comfortable for long trips, handles like its on rails and has a ton of power for a 600.
If you're looking for a step up and something that'll last you for a long time and you can do everything with I definitely think the ZZR is a wiser choice especially with the cost of insurance these days and the fact that you'll be needing full coverage if you're paying on a loan.

Im in total agreement with you here man. I stunt the **** outta mine now but that '06 would be a bike I could just ride. Its nasty as hell. Do you happen to know how many horsies its putting on the pavement? They said it has 140 I just didnt know what that translated to. Plus colorado's elevation rapes the horsies hard.

I just have 1 tooth down up front and if I turn up my idle and kill the rear psi it does fine. Just have to use a lotta rear brake....My zx7 was 2 down and 8 up but that thing is toast. I need a f4i.
