Where do you ride at? If you ever ride down to the shell during the season and meet cory (www.dsfriders.com) he rides a bone stock '05 r6 and is doin circles and coasters on it, he doesnt even kill the rear tire pressure. Pretty sick sh*it. It is a true tribute to throttle/RB control. Makes us all look like squids.

I've rode with him several times, but I don't go down to the shell I've got no license and don't want to risk riding downtown.

downtown is the safest place to ride. the man wont even bother with us cause they got bigger fish to fry. Why dont you just truck/trailer your bike down there?

Man If your looking at the 2005 Kawasaki ZZR600 don’t waist your money that bike pretty much hasn’t changes since 1998 still carbureted Go with the 636 for sure and if $$ is an issue and you really want that zzr600 buy a used ZX6R like a 2000 for half the price of a 2005 ZZR600 but that’s just my

Here's the pro's and con's of each in my opinion

636 Pro's

Fuel Injection
Quick
Agile
Increadible brakes
Slipper clutch
Increadible handling

Con's

Aggressive riding position
FRAGILE bike (Breaks rearsets, levers, A LOT OF THINGS when you drop it, don't buy this bike if you think you might drop it accidentally)
Expensive insurance
Not as good of gas mileage

ZZR600 Pro's

Very comfortable
Quick (It's still on par with 01-03 GSXRS F4i's and R6's)
Cheap *** insurance cuz it's classified as sport touring
Handles great very user friendly
Good beginner 600 all around great bike
Won't break as much if you drop it
More parts available

Con's

Carbuerated
Lackluster front end and brakes
Heavier by today's standards (but more durable)

So you have decide what's more desireable, remember the 636 costs 1600 more MSRP, and will break a lot more if you drop it.

The 636 is a better bike, I own it, but it's my 5th sportbike, so I wasn't worried about dropping it. It's a great bike but not very comfortable for long trips, handles like its on rails and has a ton of power for a 600.

If you're looking for a step up and something that'll last you for a long time and you can do everything with I definitely think the ZZR is a wiser choice especially with the cost of insurance these days and the fact that you'll be needing full coverage if you're paying on a loan.
FHL pretty much summed it up!

Re: zzr600 or 636?

Yeah but something NO ONE besides me has mentioned.. If you're young, it's going to cost you a SHITLOAD to insure a ZX6R full coverage. A ZZR-600 is classified as a 599cc sport tourer, which means the insurance will be ridiculously cheap comparitively, the bike is less expensive, and you still have something that'll hang with modern sportbikes.

Even if you went with a used 00-02, I would bet you'd be paying more for insurance and the loan payment than with the 06 ZZR.

Check it out on progressive.

Ok just comparitively for a 636 it was 5000 for me, and 2500 for the ZZR, luckily I have my dad for insurance.

Re: zzr600 or 636?

yeah, just get it insured under your parents name...I pay about $90 a month for full coverage and I'm only 16, the bike is under my dads name and I'm just a registered driver on it...

I'd guess at almost 80% of the people that ride down there dont have either their license or insurance. Not to mention very few actually ride with their plates showing. We do all of our stunting at industrial parks (i.e. behind warehouses and secluded areas.) And never really have any problems with the man. And **** man during the season just to expierience the denver stunt scene (or lackthereof) I will personally come and trailer your **** downtown. Im hoping to have a lot bike that actually runs by then anyway. Its a damn shame that we dont have more lot rats cause we need some good ones.
