Re: Busa as a first bike!!!
lmao wait this is not funny.
seriously what do u think everyone is going to say as an answer.. and then when u think of that what do u think is the reason they are going to give you that answer.
then ask yourself what is u'r priority riding anything or riding what u want then u answered u'rself in what u should do.

Re: Busa as a first bike!!!
Nothing wrong with gixxr 750 good bike for everything...twisties, speed, and stunt ...busa isnt the greatest thing for the twisties and stunt in my opinion..but its got speed all day
Re: Busa as a first bike!!!
personal opinion of the choice aside (busa or 750 for first bike makes me think you're a f***ing retard or REALLY REALLY big)....
go smaller, drop it a few times, resell, get what you want.

Re: Busa as a first bike!!!
I started with a 2005 GSX-R600 (riding for 3 months) and I suggest you to begin with a GS500 or something similar... something bigger will be very stupid at first..
Re: Busa as a first bike!!!
stupid is not the word i crashed a busa that wasnt mine last year and let me tell u when u crash a busa while speeding it drops you you dontt drop it.. for real any bike can bite but u dont want to start on that bike unless if u are a real man then go ahead and do you'r thing i got another thread open ready to post R.I.P. not that i wish it on anyone.

what will you do when u get tired of your Busa?? There's nothing after Busa.. she's the top of bikes :YEAH Re: Busa as a first bike!!!
busa is the JUNK of bikes! not the top, just cuz it's the biggest motor doesn't mean ****.. it's like a fat girl with a pretty face, got nothin to offer besides personality.. my first bike was a gix750.. i faired fine. never crashed on the street ever(knock knock) been ridin for 3 years.. i would say a 600, just for the fact you will probably want to stunt, and 600's r more fun than liters
Re: Busa as a first bike!!!
I have been riding 6 years now and have never had a crash on a street bike(thank God), dirt bikes I was not so lucky. My first bike was a 99 GIX 750, I learned the basics on a dirt bike and when I got good on a friends 600 street bike I got the 750. If you really want to be a rider get the 600 first learn how to push your bike then get something bigger and no one will be able to keep up with you unless they can ride as good as you can and have a bigger bike. When I was on the 600 I spanked R1 azz every day, bigger means nothing if you doint know how to handle the power. Any one can twist the juice but it takes a real rider to know how and when to down shift to haul azz. You have to take time learing tricks of the bikes power and learing where the power is in your bike, 1000 and up do not forgive you when you mess up and cost a lot more to fix. True some 600's do not forgive either but they bit a little slower and some times give you more time to react to the bike. Every man knows his limits but for your own good crawl first then walk later.
Re: Busa as a first bike!!!
Oh yeah I got a friend in Lewisville tx that will spank almost other riders azz in corners, on his busa. I have rode it, and it just takes a little more to turn it in fast but it can be done, it is all about the riders strengh in riding, most people who own busa's never raced at a day track, they drag that is why they caint ride their bikes like other racers do, it is not the bikes capability, as I have felt it first hand, it is a capable bike that gets no respect because of the people who uasally ride it that only go in strait lines and cannot turn to save thier lives.
Re: Busa as a first bike!!!
u guys are good man i pray if u havent crashed yet that u never do i guess i better do some souls searching since i crashed everything at some track somewhere from nj to fl lmao i havent crashed in a while but i guess i dont know my limit yet..

getting a busa as a first bike is like bringing a xxxl magnum condom to your first time having sex.. you could live optimistically but if u have faith in that condom on you then see u 9 months later..

Re: Busa as a first bike!!!
Why you got to talk about babies and 9 months got me worried now LOL, naw for real I have crashed dirt bikes all of the time, I learned wheelies even burnouts on dirt bikes so when I got on the street I was much more controlled and even even dirt hurts. i have had some close calls at the track, the key I think is panicing just stay come and if you know your bike well you can bring it out of most near crashe's with out a scratch. Yeah thumbs down to any one wanting a busa for a first bike. I seen a guy try to race one at luna and 12 it taking off, he didnt get hurt too bad I thought he was a stunter never seen anybody do dat in person.

2nd, I have previous bike experience, I raced dirt bikes for a year, and I rode my dads 600 katana, I'm just saying as to own should I get a busa, becuase I got a good deal on one thats if I buy it. I was just planning on selling it or trade-in when i came across the 750, reguardless, I want a 750, but I have the chance to get a busa right now. I am willing to settle for a busa right now, heck. I just need a bike, no I want a bike that damn bad, i've even looked into getting a pos BMW...
Now that yall know what should I look out for other than the power, becuase i know most busa are jus tused at the tracks, i'm not really into stuning or twisty on a busa, thats more on a dirt bike fo rme so....
Re: Busa as a first bike!!!
It is not all about the power of the busa, Maybe because I have been riding a while, on some really hyped up bikes with nos and every thing they could stuff in them, to me the busa did not seem quick it was just mucle. If you will not be stunting or ridiing extreme then get the busa. But if youi hop in a wolf pack be prepared to be left behind by smaller bikes with very experienced riders. Not doubting your skillz but it talkes a rider time to get good enough to ride a busa like a 1000 or under bike. I would get it because not many people are looking at buying a busa because it is a drag bike they want something that will handle better, and not have the stigma of "oh he must drag racer like you caint go around corners" not including how high the insurance will be and the bigger chance some one will wont to steal it. And gas is a (B) because it drinks and has a big tank. I live in Tx and they steal busa's like snacks here so it is out of the question for me, shure they steal all bikes but in my area I know 3 gone in the last month.
Re: Busa as a first bike!!!
Well, as of right now, it seems like the seller doesn't want to sell it to me righ tnow over some bullshit, I asked him to meet em in person, becuase I knew the exact backgroudn he took his add picture at. So I jsut said meet em there, and he was a no show, I emailed him back and he sent me soem bullshit. Man, i'm ****ign pissed, first this, then my 68 revamped/Bug needs to be RE_WIREd the whole car, so i'ma be in a pissy mood for awhile now.....
Anyone know about selling a 750 or busa near LA, Califrnia??

Re: Busa as a first bike!!!
this is retarded. "I'm getting a good deal" is not the reason to get a busa, or a 750 for that matter. Get what you want but I'd recommend a beat up or few year old 600 as a first. you can always find a stunter to but a beat 600 if you decide to get a bigger bike.
if you want to stunt the busa: full throttle in 2nd gear dump the clutch.

anyone who has experience can always tell when a noob goes out and gets a bike that is too big for his skill level....you can tell by the way that they ride it...don't be one of those guys...
as for settling with a busa....your out of your mind...that bike will do very bad things to you, start smaller and work your way up, so that you don't become one of the statistics that make my insurance rates go up....
it's not about ego, or any of that other b.s. it's about riding a bike that you can handle....if you haven't ever owned your own bike, or had serious seat time, YOU CAN'T HANDLE A BUSA....hell, I've seen guys on 600's own motherfuckers on 1000's ...cause they know how to ride
you prolly won't listen to any of the advice given to you....."that won't happen to me" and all that other ****....good luck....
