What should I do, get it or get a smaller bike???

Buy the Busa, perferably the black/silver one. Then when you crash it, sell it to me cheap.

skip the busa, if you want to learn how to ride street, buy something a lot smaller, and you'll learn a lot faster. trust me, ive been riding a 500 for about a year now, and love it

Re: Busa as a first bike!!!

I am sorry but I think anything smaller than a 600 is crap. I guess becuase today 600's can run with 750's. People think 500's you learn better, you can get a dirt bike for cheap and do the same thing. 500's get you good with shifting and stuff which a MFS course will do that, and they aint compareable to 600's because 500's will not wheelie by accedent due to letting the clutch out wrong when shifting. Just get a 600 with less power, and it will still more powerful than a 500. I learned on a 750 and my friend learned on a R1. He dropped that bike about 4 times, stupid stuff like forgeting to pu his kick stand down. But now he can walk that bike up a hill and around curves. You were saying you want a 750 the busa is oppisite to that it will not even handle close to that with out major mods it is what it is a strip bike. I agree with every one else get a beat up 600 got to crawl before you wheelie, and when you find your self tearing up the 600 because it dose not have enough power upgrade. Or get the busa wreck it and sell me the tail section. Not saying you will but with that power you will prob lose it around a curve tring to ride it like a gix 750.

if you want to stunt the busa: full throttle in 2nd gear dump the clutch.

damn right i'm gettin my beater 600cc this weekend :YEAH

Re: Busa as a first bike!!!

DO NOT GET A BUSA FOR YOUR FIRST BIKE! I just had to come out and say it, if you do make out a will. Get a 600cc for a first bike, just take this as friendly advice. No one is gonna laugh at you for riding around on a 600. Look at a middle class. I started on a 636 and I loved it. I now ride a 05 750. You will not out grow your bike in 1 season of riding. Get something used if you lay it down you wont be standing over your bike crying like a girl that and insurance...

Whats insurance rates look like for a Busa

Yep ya no thats because it is a drag bike you have to put shorter dogbones lighten it up just to make it corner kind of like a 1000. 600's are dangerous too Stacy's has one 600 that runs like a 1000 cc bike. The new R6 will come up in third, Id get a 600 that is not race edition for staters, like a yzf600R you can always make it faster and it will not cost a bunch of $ to fix.

Re: Busa as a first bike!!!

get a full fairing SV650S... They are fast enough and forgiving

Rossi on a scooter could thrash most people on a 600!
You can have the fastest production bike ever produced but if you cant ride it... it dont mean a thing... Get your skills first, get a used bike that if you drop its no biggie.
